I received an E-mail recently from a real estate agent who was trying to sell domains names to Realtors® at a price of $599 each. He said it was because he had bought too many domains names and needed to sell some that he wasn't going to use. I thiink it's really bad when someone in our industry is trying to take advantage of others. Domain names at www.marketingmaniacdomains.com only cost $9.99 so why is he trying to sell them for $599. I just got this letter yesterday and this was the headline. Did I want to read it? Yes!!! Not because I think my life sucks. It doesn't. But I want to know why this person thought my life sucks. I am struck by the directness of this advertising and captured at the same time.
I've decided I love working with relocation buyers. Usually, they are looking because they really need to buy now. The actually listen when you explain things to them about the town or neighborhood--unless they have lived in the area before and then they want to know what is the same and what has changed. For me, they have been a great source of referrals. 90% of referrals I have gotten have come from buyers whom I represented when they moved to the area.
I spend alot of time researching new construction practices and what builders are doing in today's market. I stumbled upon this article when researching new construction. If you're like me you occasionally get a contact message through Active Rain. It always makes me a little excited because I know it is either contact from another professional in my industry or someone who has taken the time to do some research as a possible client. I am interested in how you folks feel about the possibility of the Foreclosure Relief Bill and the FHA getting involved in the business of high risk refinance. I'm a bit unconvinced that the FHA can really handle that increased market share and also that the government needs to jump in at all. I sincerely feel for anyone dealing with the loss of their home, but on the other hand believe that the price tag of a bail out or refinance will be a costly one. The old adage "Buyer Beware" is something I've always adhered to.

I got an email from Brande Bradford this evening while I was making dinner. She asked me to look at something and help out with it if I could. From my phone I told her I'd help, whatever it was. Didn't really matter what it was because a friend wanted me. Of course I'm there. :)
Do you ever wonder where people read your blog from. Its all over and posted below is a review of my New Orleans Condo Trends blog readers by location. Its a site meter feature. It give you some great features and its free. Since adding the widget to my blog the number of hits has picked up daily. Many are going to be local but the distance is amazing. 
My basic rule of thumb here is, let me do my job, I will let you do yours. I think the main reason why we don't get a long is because Realtors try to do our job in appraising homes. They try to supply us comps that usually are not comps. This is the main thing that I have noticed over the years. In todays market, comps are considered closed sales within the last 90 days within typically 0.75 miles of the subject property. Anything else that falls outside these 2 basic requirements are NOT comps. Don't give us active listings … (2 comments)
I was just listening to the radio and I heard something about text messaging that finally makes sense to me. Honestly, texting just isn't my thing but for the first time, this makes sense.
