Buyers with Cold feet? Ever had a buyer have second thoughts after an offer? - 10:19 PM
Have you ever had a client who finds the perfect home, and makes an offer, gets it accepted and then has second thoughts or cold feet? I must admit it has happened to me on more than one occasion in my real estate career. I had a first time home buyer who I had been working with for months and we had looked a several homes until he found the perfect one. We made the offer and we got contract acceptance, and the home was appraised and we were about a week from closing and I get a call from him and he (2 comments)
Are we losing a large amount of Realtors because of the markets? - 10:31 PM
Has your real estate or mortgage business been a roller coaster ride the past 12 months or more? I remember when I was a new agent, and I had a couple of closings lined up that I would slack off and enjoy the benefits of my labor, but I realized as I stayed in the business that you need to keep funneling in new business so you can keep those closings and paychecks rolling in. I wanted to write about this because I have been blessed this year to have had a few closings, and I am still busy. I just wanted to (5 comments)
A Whooping this week - 10:27 AM
Well, we took some serious hits this week in the bond market. We have switched our focus from the FNMA 5.5 Bond to the FNMA 6.0 Bond that really is how much we fell this week. the talk about inflation and oil has hurt both the stock and the bond market. It was nice to see the Saudis come out and say that they this oil is too expensive. Really, a little late there guys. BiG Ben is doing all that he can to help stave off inflation, but he can only do so much. I still have some great news (0 comments)
Topsail Island Boat Ride - 11:48 AM
The agents from our office , brokers in charge, company owner and guests decided to have a boat ride Tuesday night after work. We all met at the boat which was docked at Topsail Beach at 6:00. The weather was great! Each agent brought a food or beverage to share so there was plenty of food. The boat ride lasted for a couple of hours and the group witnessed some awesome sunsets over the waterway. We realized this would surely be a great marketing tool...homes look so much different from the water side. The market is picking up and prices have adjusted..."It's surely (0 comments)
Super 8 MeMe - 01:35 PM
Once again I was selected to do a MeMe and this is hopefully my last time of it. 1. Who is your favorite musical artist? I have many as I listen to and love a broad range of music. But If I had to pick just one, I would say any of the following. 1st would be Jim Brickman or Sarah Brightman. 2. Who is your favorite artist? As in music, my taste in art and the artist that creates it is so varied. Wood would jump out as a favorite for scenes and I also like Erte.
Find the History on your Land & Mineral Rights Denton County Link Below - 02:53 PM
It is easy to find the history of your land and mineral rights if you have the time. Mike and I went to the Denton County Clerk's office and in less than two hours we knew our history-who owned our property and when. We wanted to see in writing what our mineral rights were, and not take anyone's word for what we owned. The county's land records go back to the 1850's and are also accessible on the Internet. At the county clerk's office there are helpful research ladies and the copies are 25 cents per page. If you work from your home the (0 comments)

Plan Would Lift Saudi Oil Output to Highest Ever - 11:24 AM
The increase could bring Saudi output to a production level of 10 million barrels a day, which, if sustained, would be the kingdom's highest ever. The move was seen as a sign that the Saudis are becoming increasingly nervous about both the political and economic effect of high oil prices. In recent weeks, soaring fuel costs have incited demonstrations and protests from Italy to Indonesia. Saudi Arabia is currently pumping 9.45 million barrels a day, which is an increase of about 300,000 barrels from last month. While they are reaping record profits, the Saudis are concerned that today's record prices might (8 comments)

short sale counter - 08:41 PM
On a short sale counter for California...if the house is in default...what would you put on the counter to protect the seller? I always do the SAA form, but feel there could be more verbage...does anyone out there have more to add to a counter (even if we have to add an addendum) I don't want to have to be redundant about what I put in a counter if I attach the SAA form. Thanks for your input! (0 comments)

My Four Month Anniversary Back in Biz... Eight Lessons from the Trenches - 08:33 AM
June 1st was my four month anniversary of re-activating my license after a two year sabbatical, and May 31st was the final day of the SOI Reality Show. (In a nut, the Reality Show was a 12-week program lead by Yours Truly where I and about 50 other soulful agents connected or reconnected with our SOI's. Together, we created our contact databases, selected a contact management system, wrote fabulous reconnection or announcement letters, set goals, created business plans and then proceeded to implement those plans (together) with the intent of generating business and referrals from the people we know and the (30 comments)
