Senate Clears Housing Bill for Final Approach - 08:42 AM
All that is left to implement the new Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008, aka The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008,  is for President Bush to sign it, and since he rescinded his veto threat, that is pretty much a guarantee that this government intervention that is full of little "pieces of crap" will get passed.  As for the overall bill, once again I will state that it does more harm than good as is typical with any government intervention.

I was thinking as I was filling up my Tank (AKA)SUV this morning and wanted to pose a question to those of you who have an opinion about this matter. I wonder how you think gas prices have affected the real estate market in general, and if they were to be $3.00 per gallon versus $4.00 per gallon would that provide a boost to the economy and a possible boost to the real estate market eventually? I know this is a very complex economy and many dynamic answers could come out of this question. I am just speaking in general.

While I was going through my e-mail tonight I received my e-mail link to my e-Pro talk and it alerted me to a wonderful newer Free service from Google. I often use the 411 service when I need information and I am out in the field , Normally it costs $1.25 per call and I noticed that I do this frequently and this new service is so totally Free and very cool. So, after having our boat in for service three times  in the last month, we eagerly picked the Sea Doo up and headed to the lake. After launching and starting the engines with difficulty, we were off. Since our house is in the next cove, we decided to take go over to take some photo's. Since it's a no wake cove, we slowed down. Bad idea. Neither engine would turn over. One sounded as if it was going to detach from the boat altogether. We were not happy.

Wal-Mart Replaces Sears as Place to Buy a Home - 07:52 PM
You used to be able to buy a Sear home out of the Sears catalog.  Now we have Wal-Mart selling homes on their classifieds on their http://www.walmart.com/ website.  Powered by Oodle we have http://walmart.oodle.com/ where anyone can post their home for sale. 
Realtors can put their listings on there as well.  The website asks "What are you looking for?" and I typed in real estate.  The next question is "Where do you live?"  I typed in Lawrence KS.  I then received the 49 Lawrence Kansas real estate homes for sale.

What a good way to spend a Sunday morning!  Clients of mine are looking to purchase a second home on a lake in Connecticut.  Though this morning started out with rain, the sun popped out while we were looking at these lake properites.  The boat launches were not busy.  Only one or two boats went by while we took our tours.  Sunday must be sleep in day on the lake!  Some folks were walking babies, one Dad and his two boys walked by with fishing poles and one cottage was getting a new roof today.  We looked at several properties, with … (6 comments)

New member to this ActiveRain group from Dauphin Island, Alabama.
A few weeks past I posted photos of one of my private rental homes on Dauphin Island.  Of course, I advertise it on various sites including direct page links on my XSite www.MarionSells.com and www.ForgottenGulf.com.  The main purpose for this posting was to create easy links to these photos from my blogs and responses to renter inquires.  A secondary hoped for benefit was that through linking the photos to various "Channels" inside WebShots I would generate direct renter/sales traffic.  Yesterday, I discovered I succeeded beyond expectation.

Is that agent making their living selling real estate or is this something they do on the side?
This should be the first question you should ask an agent who is trying to get your business.  I am amazed how many folks will trust the most expensive purchase or sale in their life with someone who is doing this as a hobby.
