Zillow Shares The Limelight With Its Members (How They Shoved the Trulia No-Follow Tags In Trulia's Face) - 11:35 PM
Zillow.com announces that it offers a "co-branding" link strategy for users:
What is it? If you place a Zillow URL on your Web site or blog with special coding, and it's clicked, your photo, contact info and link to your Web site appear at the top of each Zillow page they see.
You can see when you click the link that a "banner ad" hovers with the user as he/she navigates the Zillow site, reminding him/her of the origination.  At any time during the navigation of Zillow, the user can instantly click back to your home page.

Need help w/the new localism - 12:44 AM
Top complaints for the new localism:
I have 5 of the top 10 posts on Localism in Cary, NC  which is my community, and I'm not even considered to be a "Top Neighbor".  1 of the top 10 posts is on my neighborhood but it's not even in the list of popular neighborhoods. There is no way to provide links for my posts-the credit has been diminished - to Localism only - no google juice for me.  Localism is way off on the popular neighborhoods in my local area. I had pulled a table together w/several pictures and the pictures are all "cut … (3 comments)

Want to learn about video? Join my new group Mixpo 4 Dummies - 05:23 PM
As most of you know I bought a Flip Video camera about a week and a half ago and received it last week.  I'm absolutely obsessed with my video camera - kind of like I used to be with my digital camera.  I take it, and my tripod, everywhere I go.
I promised that I'd post a video by the end of last week.  I don't know about you but I'm somewhat of a perfectionist.  If I am going to shoot a video I want it to be much more than "just a video".  With Youtube and others the platform is … (47 comments)

Carlsbad - A Residential Community or an Agricultural Community? - 11:02 AM
Carlsbad is a beautiful seaside town in North County San Diego with rolling hills, broad open spaces, and gorgeous vistas of the back country, the lagoons (3 of them) and the ocean.
Of course you can't forget the charming Carlsbad Village either, the center of retail and business activity in the north of the city. A majority of the dining and shopping are found here, but with pockets of amenities in South Carlsbad and other locations, with more growth planned.

Cuban Tile Flooring - historic and green (LOCALISM FEATURED) - 02:52 AM
You know I love old homes and have a passion for historic preservation. Cuban Tile is one of the popular flooring materials of the known "Spanish Mediterranean Revival" homes found in Miami - not to be confused with Historic Cuban Barrel Tile used for roofs (see article).

Cuban Tile flooring is popular in South Florida and found in historic 20's homes as well as 30's, 40's and 50's and although the patterns are not as intricate as their historic counterparts, it's a great material nevertheless.

The Differences Between Rent to Own, Lease Option and Lease Purchase Agreements - 10:09 PM
The real estate market is seeing soemwhat of a "shift" in how homes are selling. Some are selling faster, some slower, some for more money and some for less. One of the more popular questions that we hear nowadays is: What are the Differences Between a Rent to Own, Lease Option and Lease Purchase Agreements?
This is a lot of confusing terminology.

Here is a very simple way to explain the differences.
Rent to Own: This is a loose agreement between a home owner/landlord and the tenant/buyer. Basically, the landlord agrees that a portion of the monthly payment goes toward the … (3 comments)

Is your state "Good for Business?" or How to Blog - 04:10 PM

Okay, I admit it, I'm a true Texan; it just got into my blood sometime when I was a child, which means I have this exaggerated sense of state pride that only Texans understand and it also means I couldn't resist commenting on this news story.
This morning I had a discussion with a past graduate of mine about blogging and one of the challenges that came up was the writing.  Starting a blog is the easy part but keeping it going, and keeping it interesting for your readers is another thing entirely.  One of my ideas to my friend was to … (0 comments)

NCAR says Pay Up or Get Out.....Extortion? - 02:48 PM
Extortion, maybe too harsh of a word, however, they will be collecting and will enforce this voluntary assessment.  Let me explain.....
Today I received an email from our MLS president which reads in part....
"I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of an action by the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors to protect our industry!
The NCAR Board of Directors has approved a one-time member assessment of $70.00 to be paid by the end of 2008.  The assessment will be reduced to $50.00 should you pay it prior to September 30, 2008.  (the board) has the responsibility of … (4 comments)

Even some celebrities are hurting during the housing crisis - 08:27 AM
I just read another article in Yahoo news about how many celebrities are facing the same housing crisis the rest of the country is seeing. Just because you are a celebrity and might be making a bit more than the average person....it seems that some of them that purchased Real Estate have stopped making their mortgage payments.
There is no way for me to know the actual reason other than what our famed media tells us but I guess we don't realize that some of them are biting off a bit more than they can chew.
Imagine buying a mansion and having … (12 comments)
