Where Are The Foreclosures Concentrated? - 01:53 PM
According to a montly report issued in May 2008 by Fannie Mae 23% of mortgages identified as being fraudulent and originated in 2006 and 2007 came from only 10 zip codes! The report states that these top 10 zip codes are as follows: Detroit Minneapolis Tampa Atlanta Pompano Beach, Fla. Las Vegas Miami Dearborn, Mich. Memphis Orlando I personally find this to be an amazing statistic, nearly a quarter of all fraudulent loans for a two year period came from only 10 zip codes. Read more about this here. (0 comments)
FLORIDIANS COPE WITH RECORD RAINS - 03:47 PM
Record rainfalls have been reported as tropical storm Fay stalls over the coast of Florida. In less than 24 hours some areas reported up to 18 inches of rain have fallen so far and more is expected to follow. Schools suspended classes on Tuesday in several counties, as Fay made her way to Florida. Some areas have been more affected than others particularly those in low lying areas. However overall, Floridians have coped well as the storm barreled down the east coast into parts of Brevard and Osceola Counties dumping record rainfalls. After surviving Hurricanes Charlie, Francis, and Jeanne this was (4 comments)

Buffalo Grove and Long Grove Schools start tomorrrow! - 10:17 PM
School starts tomorrow in Buffalo Grove and Long Grove! Its time to go back to school! If you are a student you will be crying tomorrow when you wake up at 6:30 a.m. . However if you are the parent of the child, your reaction may be a little different. Warning to Parents! Don't jump up and down with relief until your children gets on the bus and the bus is far enough away that your child can't see your grin from ear to ear. The first couple weeks of school is a little hectic, so I have printed a schedule of School starts, (3 comments)

Who is Your Buyer? - 11:35 AM
You have a buyer contract with Mr. X. You have him pre-approved and off you go to look at properties. Setting up appointments within his time frame and yours. Yes, there are many listings to see. So, let's try to narrow down what this buyer really wants. I, actually, made forms for buyers to fill out these "wants in my next home." On that same form, I ask for their birthday, anniversary (in case they are a couple), favorite restaurant, favorite song, color, etc. It gets me to know my client in a faster amount of time, on a more personal (12 comments)
Who is Your Seller? - 01:36 PM
Oh, you're really going to love this one! Is your seller a person who called in to your office? Did they ask for you, in particular? Was it an email correspondent? How about, did they come to an open house that you held? Were they referred to you by another Realtor, out-of-state or out of your demographic area? Did they find you through your family or friends? Did one of your present or past clients give them your name to call when they said they needed a good agent? Which way that lead came in to you, makes a huge difference (6 comments)
Back to School is Early This Year! - 02:38 PM
Remember when school started after Labor Day Weekend? It was the true end to summer vacation. We used to take one more trip to Martha' s Vineyard and enjoy the beach, boating and fishing. Just one more time. This year our local towns are starting school next week. School will be half day sessions for two or three days, depending on the town. Then, they will have the Labor Day Weekend off and go back to full time days for the rest of the week. Luckily, the weather has cooled off. I can't imagine having the students sitting in the classrooms in hot (1 comments)
What does "br fb hb" mean? - 04:18 PM
I was checking the Google stats on one of my web sites the other day, and found that someone went to my site after typing the following query into Google: "what does "br fb hb" mean" (my web site came up number 8!). It got me thinking about the consumers who try to decipher what we type into the limited space provided by our MLS for remarks. While some of them might seem obvious to us, I can remember being a new agent scratching my head at some of them. Here are some of the most common abbreviations found in the MLS remarks (4 comments)

Is your lawn safe for your pets and children? - 10:54 PM
We all have seen the small signs on the lawn: it shows pets with a bar over them with the words Warning!. As I commend the owners and the lawn care services to warn owners of pets.Lately I have been looking for pet friendly organic lawn fertilizers and care. Lawn herbesides are the number one killer of pets in the USA and it makes me sad and mad to know that some owners in Fort Myers Beach do not try at least to respect human life. Most do care.

The selling of the American Dream! - 07:37 PM
I was just watching a update on the woes of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae...the losses they are sustaining and all you can say is....it is going to get worse before it gets better. Anyway that is the way it looks and the stock market, housing market and GNP are all going to take hits. I looked at it and somehow it seems as though we are selling off the American Dream at bargain prices and the bottom line is it is a loss. So every buyer that finds one of these homes to purchase is getting a discount for a (12 comments)
