Image Optimization tutorial... speed up your blog, featured marketing posts - 09:26 PM
.

Since quite a few people have asked, emailed and commented about optimizing images for blogs, I thought I'd do a quick tutorial explaining...
- what it is
- why it's important
- and how it can make your blog look better and run faster

Almost every week I receive an email or see a post/comment like this one I hate it and I may as well tell you that I hate it!
Barbara's not alone in her frustration with slow, ugly blog pages. The thing is that when done properly and tastefully, customizing a … (88 comments)

Lipstick on a Pig - 12:49 AM
I have not made a decision on who will be my next President or Vice President yet. I have to admit that I loved Governor Palin's comment about Hockey moms and pit bulls. The difference is the hockey mom wears Lipstick! I want something different and I think she has brought something dynamic to the republican ticket.
That being said. Senator Obama makes a comment about Pigs waring Lipstick. A day later. Unfortunate choice of words, right? A day or two after her big speech.
Of course, right?
I thought so too....Until the news media trotted out several clips of John … (18 comments)

Never Sent a Letter - 01:57 PM
Today I hand wrote a thank you card to another agent for sending me a referral. I went to leave it at the front desk for the mailman and I had a brief lapse of current postage. I turned to my part-time receptionist for the answer.
Do you know what her response was? Some of you may not be ready for this but here goes:
"I have never mailed a letter in my life." Seriously She's a high school senior. She's a FUTURE BUYER/Customer. And she has "never mailed a letter in her ENTIRE life". When we talk about the methods of communication … (23 comments)

Have YOU Incorporated YOUR Real Estate Business? Should You? - 12:34 PM
I suspect many here, at least those who have been in the RE business for a while, have incorporated. I don't know who you are here in AR (although I can guess), and perhaps folks will weigh in on this issue.
I have not done so, and in fact never really gave it much thought. My bad. No one has encouraged me to incorporate until recently, or explained the advantages of being incorporated even as an independent agent. I imagine many out there are in the same boat. As a result of having to make recent changes in medical plans here … (61 comments)

Real Estate Website Review Service (Screenshots) - 04:03 PM
I wanted to share some screen shots from some of the most recent website reviews I've been conducting lately.
If you didn't already know... a few weeks ago I partnered with the Real Estate Tomato to launch a professional real estate website review service.  For a long time now I've recognized a need for real estate website owners to have a service that would give an accurate and balanced review/audit.  There was really nothing out there like it.
Most real estate professionals these days have websites.  But let's be honest... very few of them are succuessful or profitable.  I beleive there … (13 comments)

Springfield Missouri Real Estate - August 2008 - 09:01 PM
Springfield Missouri Real Estate - August 2008
Springfield Missouri Real Estate, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, Republic, Willard and surrounding areas.
With the number of new homes down in the Springfield Missouri Real Estate market, so too are listings.  I see this as a good sign indicating the percentage of listings to sales is a little over 10%.  For first time home buyers,  there are still several home loans available with low interest rates.  Missouri bond money is no longer limited to first time home buyers.  Buyers with good credit scores are able to take advantage of these great loans and still have a large choice of homes to … (0 comments)

Remembering Our Heroes of 911: A New York Tribute - 10:40 PM

My tribute to those who were lost in the 911 attacks, and to those they left behind.  We lived in NY on that awful day.  A friend lost his son in the twin towers, and a close friend was with the NYFD and in charge of recovering the remains.
I wrote a couple of songs in honor of that day. This one is about a widow of one of the heroes of flight 93.
 We will never forget.

A Blog Post Dedicated to our Heroes and Victims of 911 - 12:03 PM
Somehow today just doesn't feel like a normal "blogging day", my thoughts are interrupted by that feeling in my stomach, the feeling of horror of fear of sadness, do you remember that feeling? My alarm clock went off as the "radio boys" announced the first plan crash, I rushed to the living room and watched live as the second plane hit the tower. This is the day America cried.
I didn't lose a loved one as some of you did, but I cried with you and felt the pain too. I wasn't there to see it with my own eyes and experience … (4 comments)

Remembering 9/11 all over again..... - 09:41 PM

Do you remember where you were when first hearing the news? What was your first thoughts?  I still remember to this day, exactly where I was. I was at a red light, just about to make a left turn, about 500 yards from my office. My first thought was what kind of idiot would fly that close and hit a building. Was it a mistake?  Did the pilot fall asleep?  My mind was racing. As I drove up to the parking lot, there was another news flash that another plane just flew into the South Tower.  At this time, I … (14 comments)
