Something has happened to our customzied blogs. The command buttoms which used be below our custom header pictures are now across the middle. Did the Active Rain logo change and throw everything off? Anybody know?
Ezard Elementary, Conway MO. Teachers as heros. During my first 40 years, I've been blessed to have many hero's in my life. My Mom, my Dad, my husband, just to name a few. I consider Richard Nixon, FDR, George Halas and a few others hero's as well. They all have made a mark on the world, not always in the most obvious of ways.But, the true hero's in life, I do believe, are the teacher's; those in our schools, entrusted with our children each day. Fountain Hills Arizona has a new sweet spot -- a new shop for gelatos and sorbetti. The owner has developed her recipes around promoting natural ingredients and making her own kerfir. As the world today watches major, with a capital M, American financial institutions come apart at the seams because they were too carelessly and deeply involved in recently-issued mortgage securities, many experts are already starting to look for reasons to the obvious meltdown. There are many of them but it's hard to put the right weight on each. One of them, for sure, has to be the innovative programs the home loan industry produced over the last decade or so.
It was a small sign that caught my eye on my way to the Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids, MI. I wondered what it meant...Talking Books? Eventually, my curiosity got the better of me, and I pulled my car into the parking lot of the small strip mall. Although I was an avid lover of books, I had never seen anything like this. Row upon row of audio books on every subject imaginable filled the racks of the store.

The last issue of the year is now available. This is a State Bond Issue which means it can be used in any of the 64 parishes. The bond will allow you to buy a home at a reduced interest rate and will give you 4% of the sales price to use towards your closing cost/down payment. Most of my bond buyers chose the FHA (3% down payment) or the Rural Developement (no down payment) and the 4% assistance covers most of the closing cost and prepaid items. Typically my buyers do not bring any money to the closing table!
