The new year is upon us and I have seen an increase in the number of phone calls our office is receiving from buyers looking for homes and investment properties. Every day since New Year's Eve has provided us with at least one good solid call from a new buyer. The market remains fairly stable despite the drop in interest rates. The number of new listings has decreased but we are still seeing a similar number of homes going under contract and settling. I'm surprised I'm not seeing more individuals making the decision to buy with so many great deals available. The weather … (1 comments)
I was reading a blog that was talking about what the first numbers represent in a bar code.
I'm going to start off by running a few miles at the YMCA tomorrow. It's one of my new goals.
I had the opportunity, a pleasant one, to meet a new buyer the other day. Turns out she was pretty savvy, which is always a pleasure in this market, and in light of what we have been reading recently here on AR (see Lenn's excellent post to Not Blame the American consumer...if you haven't read it you must)..jpg?1327550059)
The lessons that life teaches us never ceases to amaze me! While writing my recent blog titled Life Lesson #2009 - coincidence? I think not! and in the course of responding to comments, I realized that I have been going about this blogging and commenting ALL WRONG for the past 2 1/1 years!

I know times are tough for many a Realtor out there in real estate land. We are tempted to work outside our areas of expertise because we really NEED a transaction to close! But as the old guru once said, "Always want a deal but don't NEED a deal!" I see way too many Realtors working either out of their area or out of their area of expertise as they desperately need a deal! I hear it all the time and the excuses range from, "They are one of my best clients and absolutely won't work with anyone but me!", to, … (7 comments)

Being married to your business partner means you need to make business decisions with your spouse. Usually, this is not a problem since Ed and I have finally determined who does what best. EXCEPT when it comes to pricing homes. Ed is a numbers guy so he puts a ton of faith in what the numbers say. I on the other hand think that sometimes, no make that most times the numbers lie. 
Naturally, this is member's only so you can have a lick at the comments. It was posted over on my real blog www.LifeInBonitaSprings.com and I thought to myself, "I bet the 'Rainers could tear this up in their own special way".
