I don't believe in mixing politics or religion with business....you do it your way, believe in your church, God, deity of whatever kind...traditions and rituals...the right way is what works for you. It may or may not be the way I would choose to vote, pray, etc....it's your way and that is what you should do. I spoke with a young man last night who had a home that he bought at the "top of the market" and prompty had 3 children. While the house was the right fit....and was probably the right price at the time...it has gotten (6 comments)

Tis the season...Mother nature's paint brush is out and changing the landscape from green to shades of yellow, orange, burgundy...acorns falling...squirrels scurrying...leaves to be raked...and at the top of your "To DO" list should be getting a flu shot. My husband used to be from the "I won't get it anyway" school until he did....and now he jumps in the car with me and we find the nearest location. It used to be that you had to time your shot with the nurse's visit to the drug or grocery store. Target understands that people have busy lives and they (6 comments)

Each year, fires kill more Americans than any other natural disaster. According to the U.S. Fire Administration, 80% of fire deaths occur in residences. While no home can ever be completely fireproof, I have some suggestions to help reduce your risk of fire: Smoke Detectors - the number one way to provide home fire safety! Does your home have smoke detectors? How many? There should be at least one in every bedroom! When did you test them last? Test them now! Schedule it so you test them frequently! If your smoke detectors require batteries replace them on a regular basis. Time (0 comments)
With 611 Active listings in the 37064 zip code, this means we have an 11.45 month supply of homes. While this may seem like a lot, as you can see below, there are lots of subdivisions with a ZERO month supply! Many subdivisions are sold out or have a very quick turn around! So as I sit here reading everyone's blogs, I got a hum-dinger of an idea. I'm going to do 1 blog per day for the full month of October (so technically it's 31 blogs, but y'all can start tomorrow for a total of 30). Am I crazy? Probably, but I've been wanting to do it for awhile. There's no prize (unless of course you consider increasing your position in Google, etc.) and there's only two rules: 1. If anyone has a chance, I highly recommend reading the following blog, as well as the link to the preceding blog. I have done what I can trying to research, and continue to research the validity of the following information. It completely makes sense and is the holy grail of why banks are sitting on inventory and dragging their feet, arms and heads in the sand trying to prolong the entire process. If there was ever proof that banks are purposely slowing down the process, this is it. We need to do what we can to get the word out! (2 comments)

Ergh! Damage control takes up a LOT of bars on the phone battery, not to mention time and energy. I'm a certified HUD broker. And the Fed has peculiar, specific 'tribal customs' not consistent with 'normal' transactions. With HUDs especially, because I'm really into risk reduction, I check with our state broad listing broker, Regional and Main offices at every step if I'm not absolutely sure of the hows, whys and wherefores or with any gray areas. Why not? I learn from them and they are always helpful! It's REALLY important with HUDs that everything be worked properly, their way. On (14 comments)

We've had a breezy couple of days as Fall struggles to work its way into the area. 40 mph winds will drop signs, no matter how deeply I sledge 'em into the ground. Don't ask me how, but it loosens the most tightly ratcheted nuts and bolts. So I am always running around to reassemble something or another. I was in a play in grade school titled "Due to a lack of interest tomorrow has been canceled" I think. I believe that was the name of the play. Was that phrase a late 1960's early 70's bumper sticker? In the play I was in the chorus I am sure ... I was always in the chorus and a dancer (no singing or dancing talent... but obviously no dramatic talent either.) The main song in the play was I believe called "Due to a lack of interest tomorrow has been canceled" As I recall the song some of the (0 comments)
