French Quarter roof top views! The old world feel! - 04:13 PM
French Quarter Roof Top Views, Where are the skycrapers?

Views from a French Quarter condo that I had listed a couple of years ago.  No tall buildings allowed in this historic district so you can get great views form this fourth floor unit.  The only down fall was the stairs to get up to the penthouse unit.  Great 1880 views once you opened the windows.

Anyone - Help - 02:22 PM
I will admit I am not the most tech savvy guy on the planet.  I just learned a few months ago that if I hit alt and enter the pages open in a new tab.  My nephew who is 8 said "Duh, where have you been" when I told him that.
So here is the Problem.  I emailed active rain about it too.  I have changed all the fields in my profile but I am still Showing as a Loan Officer.  NOT GOOD.  I Look like a LO for Keller Williams.  Even Worse!

Get Organized - 08:06 PM
I was updating and working on my data base today and I needed to run over to the Office Supply Store to get some refill paper for my agenda.  I wanted to share my tip for making your contact section of your agenda a little more roomy.
Here is A Tip: when You are organizing and updating your contacts the Pre-Printed pages of The Phone Book Refill Pages can be small, cramped, and generally unacceptable.  Here is how I handle this situation.  I buy more Note Paper Refills.  They are a lot cheaper and you have a blank canvas for organizing your … (4 comments)

Is it time for more stringent regulation in the real estate industry? - 05:27 AM
THE REGULATOR COMING OVER THE HILL.
C Lloyd McKenzie writes:  "Considering the fact that we are intricately related to the financial industry, why would they not look at us?"
Why wouldn't they indeed??
C. Lloyd provides a timely warning about things that could happen if the government, in it's zeal to take over an ever larger segment of private enterprise in this country, sets it's sights on the real estate industry.
I find this post utterly fascinating.
Are we going to see a "Real Estate Czar"?  If so, will they have any knowledge of the real etate industry?

Have you ever wanted to really emphasize a point in your post and bold or colored text wasn't enough? Here's a quick way to highlight text with just a little HTML code.

This is a screenshot of the first and last paragraphs of this post in Draft:

Open the post in Edit mode, and click on the HTML tab. Now it will look like this. I've underlined the text I'm going to highlight in red.

Place the HTML tag <span style="background-color: yellow;"> at the beginning of the text you want to highlight, and the tag </span> at the end.

Stay Safe On Social Media Sites - 03:02 PM
This morning there were two messages in my Facebook inbox about a "video that wouldn't load properly." Knowing the senders only through online networking, I simply deleted the messages and moved on.
This brings up the first rule of social media safety: If you feel at all suspicious or unsure, delete the message. It's far better to err on the side of caution rather than put your PC, your data, and your online network at risk. And if you're still curious, contact the sender directly and ask them if they indeed sent it. A good friend or legitimate business contact will … (4 comments)

Tips For Better Blog Writing - 05:38 PM
English was never one of my favorite subjects in school. I've always felt that being gramatically correct was nice, but not absolutely necessary. People communicate just fine in informal, conversational ways -- so why can't we write like that?
Blogging is often referred to as an online conversation. Bloggers are told to find their voice, to speak (write) naturally. So don't worry about whether or not your high school English teacher approves of your latest post; they're probably not your target audience anyway!

Google and Bing To Index Social Media Content - 07:42 PM
Detractors of Twitter frequently ask "who cares what I'm doing right now?" Apparently Google and Bing care, as both major search engines are moving forward with plans to index tweets.
Bing is also going to index Facebook status updates, while Google recently launched Social Search, a Google Labs experiment "that helps you find more relevant public content from your broader social circle."

Will this change how you use Facebook and Twitter? Will you optimize your status updates and tweets with keywords, or keep them more spontaneous?

Another Activerain Listing in Crofton Maryland - 06:55 AM

It happened again this weekend.  Another Activerain listing!  It went something like this...
Friday afternoon - Ring, Ring.  Unknown number in the Caller ID of my cell phone.  I answer it anyway.
CALLER:  I 'd like to talk to you about listing my townhouse in Crofton.
After chatting with the caller for a while about his townhouse and his motivation for selling, I asked if one of my former clients had referred him to me.  His answer:
CALLER:  I read your blog.
'Turns out that one of my Activerain posts came up first in his google search.

Ok, so do you want to get rid off all that candy without eating it...or having your kids eat it? Jim Craig's Allstate Office, Federal Hill, Baltimore City, MD - 10:08 PM
Jim Craig's Allstate Office
I met Jim Craig a few years ago at a Live Baltimore event in Baltimore City.  We talked shop and he asked if he could compete for my business.  At the time I was happy with my automobile insurer and the price was good.  My insurance wasn't due to renew for 6 months.  Five months later I got a call from Jim.  He asked me a few questions and was able to save me over $100 on my car insurance.  I had gotten a quote online on the companies website but that quote was much higher than … (0 comments)

Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, Maryland - Market Update for the Week Ending October 31, 2009
Happy Halloween!! The Anne Arundel County real estate market is still seeing a welcome increase in sales and settlements over the past weeks, the sales are edging higher.  Interest rates are still low.  The home sales still aren't as swift as we would like to see, however, they are remaining fairly stable.  The number of new listings has declined steadily over the past few weeks and we are seeing a slight increase in the number of homes going under contract and settling.  Home prices are also remaining fairly stable as we move … (1 comments)
