Marcus Theatres' Midtown Cinema, at 3201 Farnam St. (402-346-6900), is a posh four level, five screen theatre in Omaha's newly developed Midtown Crossing. How does this theatre differ from others? For one, they have a full menu of appetizers, meals, desserts and alcoholic beverages served by a wait staff while you watch a movie. Marcus Theatres calls this the CineDine experience. Here's another recent example of a continuation of the mortgage mess and how it can affect those trying to buy a home.
 
Client has a property, owner occupied, and wants to buy another in the same neighborhood.  He likes the neighborhood and is happy he can move up to a larger unit at a much better price than a couple years ago.  Client wants to rent out his smaller property, buy the larger unit with a 25% down payment, and owner occupy the larger unit for several reasons.

I admit it, when I list a home, I ask for feedback, I hope it is honest, but I tell every seller to take the feedback with a grain of salt. In every feedback there is a glimmer of truth, but you have to seek it out and most sellers and their agents can't do that.

Is December the Friday of the Year?
It's that time of year again when every day is Friday.
 Sitting here after lunch, it hit me that it felt like it must be Friday.  I had to think about the fact that it was still Tuesday. The lady who waited on me in the grocery store didn't know what day of the week it was either, she thought it was Friday.
 Had a closing this morning at 11, so I got some paperwork and emails done early.  After the closing my work day was basically over. Now all my closings for this month … (5 comments)

This is a continuation on my "are all agents interchangeable" theme.  Of course commission rates are open to negotiations.  However, with so many agents offering "full service" at a "discounted Rate" you have to be on your game with your value proposition.  What does Full Service actually mean.  Does this mean they put in the MLS, Put a sign in your yard and pray one of us brings a buyer?  Do they activally work for find a buyer?  I got a call today from a friend, who I called to tell her about the new tax credit adn how it could … (2 comments)

I needed to decompress today.  For some reason putting up my Christmas Tree sounded relaxing...I don't know why.  It was a relaxing, enjoyable and wonderfully decompressing experience that melted away the stress that real estate tends to create in my life.
As I put individual ornaments on the tree I strolled down memory lane remembering the significance of many of the ornaments.  Many of them my children had made over the years, others were gifts from special friends, many were given by my husbands students and there were those my husband and I purchased that we felt had meaning for our family.

Frying up a turkey this Thanksgiving? If you live in or around Chandler, AZ, you can recycle that used turkey oil by donating it to AZ Biodiesel, a Gilbert-based alternative fuel manufacturer.
AZ Biodiesel is turning leftover grease from local hotels, restaurants and hospitals into fuel that costs 30 cents less than standard diesel fuel and boosts fuel efficiency by as much as 3 miles to the gallon.
Add to that the fact there there is no downside to biodiesel fuel production, the only byproduct is glycerin which can be used in dust abatement projects.
