Real Estate Predictions ~ Does Anyone Really Know? - 10:53 AM
I've decided. I want that mystical Real Estate Crystal Ball for Christmas this year. 
I know it may come as a shock to you, but a real estate license doesn't come with a crystal ball.  Nope, not a single fortune cookie either.  
If I had a dollar, no...make that a nickel, for every "fortune telling" request I've had, I could have retired years ago.  Questions like "when is the market going to rebound?" "When will my home be worth what it was in 2005/2006?" "Should I sell now?" "Should I buy now?" "Should I wait till next year?"

Patricia Kennedy wrote another clever post When A Realtor® Sells Her House. Read it and read the comments. You will see that we pretty much agree (with some exceptions), that it is smart to hire someone else to handle it.
The underlying thought is that a doctor would not operate on himself, and the lawyer would be a food to represent himself. So, the agent (not necessarily a Realtor) should not represent him/herself.

The Christmas 20 for Charity - 10:08 AM
From now thru New Years, Pickerington has a subdivision that is putting on a fantastic Christmas light show/display.  Open 7 days a week from 5pm-midnight.  Now thru New Years.
20 homes all connected and synchronized to Christmas Carols.  They've been doing this for a couple years now and each year seem to add more homes to the display. 
They ask those stopping by to donate non-perishable food items.  The donations will be delivered to Mid Ohio Food Bank.  Last year they donated 3 tons of food.  Of course, there is even a greater need this year.  So, bring your family and friends … (2 comments)

Insurance Companies, Lawyers and Realtors
While I find this an interesting perspective on who "controls" the home inspection industry, ultimately it is the home inspection profession that controls itself. However there exists varying forms of regulation from state to state which by definition is a mode of necessary control.
