I just finished reading Charles Krauthammer's recent article "It's Not Easy Being Green" with the above quote introducing the new religion: environmentalism. I just had to "rant" a bit so if ranting turns you off, move on to another post. :-) Whether or not you agree with charles Krauthammer's viewpoint, he has an eloquent way of making you think! Guess that's why he won a Pulitzer Prize. His physical body may be paralyzed, but his brain is crisp and quick.

The Federal Open Market Committee voted to leave the Fed Funds Rate within its target range of 0.000-0.250 percent.
In its press release, the FOMC noted that the U.S. economy "has continued to pick up", that the jobs markets is getting better, and that housing market has shown "some signs of improvement" lately.
It's the fourth straight statement in which the Fed speaks optimistically about the U.S. economy - a signal that the worst of the recession is likely behind us.

Most of the time appraisals will come in exactly at the contract price. It's kind of frustrating when you tell your client he got a steal and then the appraisal just comes in right at the contract price. You tell them that that is normal but it's kind of a let down.

Well, yesterday came and went and so did Weigh-In Wednesdays. My apologies for anyone who was looking for the post.
This week, I am happy to report another 1/2 lb. loss. This was quite difficult, and I expect the final two weeks to be the toughest. However, I have learned over the past few months that I am able to focus and control myself in the face of temptation.

I like looking at stairs. Inside and out.
Even blogged about stairs myself a while back.
So I like James Quarello's dissertation below. So many details come into play when laying out a good stairway, staircase, set of stairs, whatever...
And they are so often overlooked, or the stairs are forced into too tight a location, making them awkward, unsafe, or just unpleasant.
I like landings, with a turn, too. It costs a little more, but it is great to have that long incline broken with a resting point.
