Part 1 – Paying to setup your WP Blog? Part 2 – The Outside Applications I started compiling this list when I set up my newest site, http://AreWeConnected.com WordPress.com says Takes seconds, costs nada You can get a blog started in less time than it takes you to read this sentence. And that’s true. But to fully get the best results out of WordPress you need so much more. So I put on my consultant hat and thought about what needs to be done and how to do a complete job . Here’s Part 3 (17 comments)
I woke up bright and early this morning to make my way to Houston giving myself a 1/2 hour of extra time(it's a 2 1/2 hour drive with good traffic). I made a last minute decision to go to the Buffini and Company Mentor Certification course, which was a very good idea! Now, I am from a smaller town that doesnt have to deal with traffic the size of Houston's. Needless to say, two accidents during rush hour traffic later, I was still 1/2 hour late! My attitude was not changed though (could be the break from the everyday life at (9 comments)
My Money is in the US and I'm in the UK - 08:48 PM
I have an English client that went under contract to buy a foreclosure. She was so excited that she got this home. She set up an account with Bank of America and when she returned to England wired money into her account immediately so it would be "seasoned". Homeland Security requires a 30 "seasoning" of money before you can use it. 30 days later we are ready to close and she contacted Bank of America to wire her funds to the closing and they said Oh No, you didn't set that up IN PERSON at the branch before you went back to (6 comments)
What I love about the internet is it's ability to affect people's lives instantly. News on demand. Facts for homework. Weather in Bali. It's all here. We are learning and growing very quickly together as a global community. It gives everyone their own soapbox. You can choose to share or not share your life with others. And if you have a cause you believe in strongly, you can reach literally thousands of people all over the world with one post. Sometimes, that little post with your simple idea can start to grow and grow. The true meaning of a (1 comments)
Megan Aller - Metrolist - 12:29 PM
Just a quick shout out to MEGAN ALLER. She has presented dozens of classes for our office the past few years - including today on Prospecting & Mapping. She really understands the technology and is able to break it down into bite-sized pieces for the technically-challenged agents in our office. We appreciate her professionalism and willingness to share tips & tricks of the ever-changing PrimeAccess features. MetroList is so fortunate to have her on staff! ____________________Anthony Rael & Assoc.Metro Brokers Arvada-Northwest12191 West 64th Ave, #210Arvada, CO 80004(303) 520-3179www.anthonyrael.com (1 comments)
How Much Did Your House Cost? - 07:25 PM
Before you come down hard on me for having the audacity of asking this question, I want to make it clear that I really don't care what you paid. The point want to make was how some buyers would answer this question and solicit your thoughts on the subject. For example, imagine you paid $300,000 with $10k down in 2001, then later re-financed during the HELOC boom in 2003 in which you could borrow up to 125% LTV. With all that cash burning a hole in your pocket, you went out and bought a new SUV, paid down a few credit cards and even managed to squeeze in an all-inclusive trip (0 comments)
Foreclosure Tactic Gaining Popularity - 09:06 PM
I just finished a great post on the new foreclosure fighting strategy known as the "produce the note" strategy. Foreclosure victims across the land are having extreme difficulty getting their servicers or lenders to answer the phone and negotiate a loan modification if one is possible. I hear on my mortgage website those folks who everyday are fighting to save their home but get stoned walled by the system. So I champion any legal solution to force the lender to negotiate. Market Snapshot -- February 24, 2009 -- from Flagstaff AZ including Supra Key News - 10:15 PM
The Northern Arizona Association of Realtors® announced today that we all have to turn in our Supra keys (those little computers that allow us to open lockboxes) on or about April 1 (did they select that day on purpose?) and exchange them for something new. We've got three choices. Basically, they are: (1) the new version of the same old thing, except it looks like a toy cell phone, (2) using your cell phone to open the lockboxes, (3) using your cell phone to open the lockboxes and access the MLS system. Depends on how much we want to pay. The (0 comments)
Real Estate Agent Reads? Yep, but according to the BBC, Not the Best - 11:01 PM
Here's the BBC's list of 100 best books. I think I've read over 40, but most were on reading lists I had to cover to get out of high school! The good recent ones, I haven't had time to read.... maybe in retirement.Instructions:1) Look at the list and put an 'x' after those books you have read (seeing the movie doesn't count).2) Add a '+' to the ones you LOVE, and a - (minus) if you hated it3) Star (*) those you plan on reading.4) Tally your total of books read at the bottom5) Tag people if you wishHere's my list, (5 comments)
Hawaiian Inn. What's Cooking... - 09:39 PM
Hawaiian Inn2301 S Atlantic Ave.Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118 Here's the update on Hawaiian Inn, old but very popular condo-hotel in Daytona Beach Shores. The Property is undergoing the major renovation. This is the biggest job (and, accordingly, assessment), that you get when you are on the ocean. It involves concrete restoration, when the concrete on the balconies and on the walkways of the properties with outside corridor system is replaced. They jack hammer it, then cut of the rusted metal bars (and for that they have to go inside 18'), so this is an expensive work and it is paid (2 comments)
Last word on Real Estate designations - 09:30 AM
This has been a fun series of post becasue of the Realtor response. First of all, my apology for not mentioning GRI. I think it is a great way for new Realtors to do more than just learn how to pass a real estate exam. It is great for learning the basics of this business whihc if you don't know you are flying blind. The comment about the public not knowing what these designations mean is also an important observation. Just because you put this on a business card does nothing to inform the public. Maybe a forum on promoting the (3 comments)

Sometimes You Don't Want to be Close - 03:48 PM
Sometimes closeness can be over rated. Take for instance heating and cooling supply and return registers. You know those grills in the floor, wall or ceiling where the warm or cold air comes out. Have you ever wondered why there needs to be a return air register? A simple explanation is; have you ever tried to blow air into a plastic bottle? Can't be done unless you put a small hole in the end. Then air can flow out. This is some what the same concept in a house except that the air is recaptured and reconditioned. Think about a room (21 comments)
The event has been jam packed with panels and classes from technology to open houses to pricing - basically anything that you can think of. I wrote a longer post about Keller Williams Family Reunion here with some more pictures from the vision speech and a few additional items. Are You Still in Business? - 11:02 AM
I had a call from a REALTOR that started out that way. I had never done business with this individual just a few folks in her office. It just points out that the "thinning of the herd" is really hitting the real estate industry hard. In some ways thinning the herd is healthy for the marketplace as the weak and underfunded service provider drop by that wayside leaving the strong and profitable companies.Unfortunately when these companies drop by the wayside they leave behind websites and literature to confuse the public. This also tell me that I need to spend a little (1 comments)
