A New Idea - 05:54 PM
I don't understand our continued frustration with Banks and "Short Sales!"
Are all we masochistic?
Do we enjoy being taken advantage of?
Are we Playing By The Rules Or Blind Conformity?
Are we stupid or just ignorant?
I pray it's just ignorance, for the lack of knowledge is the correctable!

One prolific blogger who knows so much more than the bankers, repeatedly tells us how stupid they are that they don't just accept any and every offer on presentation! Why tell us? Tell the Bankers!
Are we not a service industry? Don't we get paid for solving real estate problems? Are … (5 comments)

LEESBURG LUXURY HOME COMMUNITY, CONVENIENT WITH OPEN SPACES AND TREE PRESERVATION - 02:19 PM
MAJOR BUILDERS KNOW THAT PRESERVING TREES WHEN DEVELOPING A SITE PLAN WILL HELP SELL HOMES.
BUILDING ON PASTURE LAND.  Builders or developers often have little opportunity to preserve trees in a new home community.  Often the land being developed is former farm land was cleared 100 years ago and has been used for pasture or crops over the years.
THE GOAL IS TO SAVE TREES.  When we find a piece of land that is zoned for development, the developer must determine what can be done to preserve as much wooded stock as possible while maximizing the number of bailable lots that … (14 comments)

The Economy Have You Seeing RED?? - 02:09 PM
Let's face it, things are tough all over and everyone these days are concerned about the economy and the cost of living. So when a buyer sets out to buy a home the last thing they need to see is RED!! So what's the solution? PAINT OF COURSE!
When selling your home it is not only important that it is staged correctly but I always advise my clients that the BONES OF THE HOUSE need to show well. So what does that mean?
1. Are your walls a neutral color?
2. Are your carpets and or floors in good condition?

Redefining the Housing Market - 06:36 PM
In an unequivocal break from the Bush presidency, the Obama administration announced this week that they will no longer refer to the "global war on terror." Instead, our military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan will be called the "Overseas Contingency Operation."
New label, new perspective, new connotation.
This got me thinking about some of the favorite media terms for our challenging housing market - housing crisis, housing bubble, mortgage meltdown. It's time for some new labels. Maybe they can call it a 'Domestic Residential Adjustment' or 'National Housing Reapportionment.'
More importantly, it's time for agents to step up as the local experts and educate the public. It's … (7 comments)

What Happened this Week in Stocks & Housing - 12:37 PM
Stocks have been trading higher after Treasury Secretary Geithner unveiled a plan to remove toxic assets from financial institutions using money from the $700 Billion TARP fund. The government will mitigate the risk by offering private investors billions of dollars in low-interest loans to finance the purchases.
On Monday, the housing market received good news when the Existing Home Sales came in stronger than expected. And, the US Dollar received a boost when China said it will continue to purchase US Treasuries, despite saying last week they were concerned about the value of those Treasuries.

We aren't working with no stinking realitors.....and other intelligent bits from FSBO's - 06:33 PM
I just got an email back on a FSBO that I sent an email to asking for more details...I have two clients that the property may indeed work for so I was excited! My goal was to get the information from the seller, look at the property and see if it would indeed work, if it did I would contact my clients to discuss the property.
I just got another email back with "Never mind we are not working with any realitors"! mmm Interesting I thought....they didn't even ask what the commission was going to be...they didn't even say we won't pay … (0 comments)

Break On Through To The Other Side...ROAR! - 04:47 PM
Unless you live under a rock then you know I’ve had the kind of year you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. But that is not what this post is about. This post is about the power that lies within prayer. Now I do understand not everyone subscribes to the same beliefs as I. But, I also understand that my beliefs, believe in you.
So, with that said: To all of you who have prayed on my behalf, set up prayer chains, sent me positive vibes and thoughts, called and talked me through my frustration, offered me unconditional love and friendship, … (149 comments)

2009 Best Place for Business and Careers - Triangle Region #1 - 01:06 PM

The Triangle Does it Again!  In the past the Triangle Area has been fortunate to be one of the Best Places to Live and a media darling! With the economy slowing and unemployment rising there has been concern that our red hot economy will start to slow down.  Don't get me wrong, employment in the Triangle is expected to decline with recent layoffs by IBM, Nortel, and other top companies.
The good news - In an announcment by Forbes this week they have chosen the Triangle Region as the Best Place for Business and Careers.   This year is actually the 3rd year in … (4 comments)

Warning the following is blatant advertising. I do affiliate sales for the following product, so this is less a review and more like advertising.  Hopefully, most agents here are familiar with the idea of syndication of listings. You sign up for a service and that service "syndicates" your listing by sending the info to all the places that consumers look for real estate. We can't all be heroes! - 07:48 AM
We can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by. ~ Will Rogers
Yesterday on my way to work (it's only a 15 minute drive), I saw a man digging through the garbage
dumpster looking for acceptable items to take with him.  I went by the local food pantry and saw the
line extending around the corner of people waiting for the pantry to open.
We live in a fairly protected area where we don't see a lot of what the rest of the world sees.
I can't help but to think … (5 comments)
