Think Twice Before You Leave that Comment - 12:59 AM
A week or so ago there was an article on MSN about someone who was offered a job at Cisco and came home and tweeted about loving the money, but not really wanting the job.  He was subsequently contacted by a Cisco Social Media contact who informed him that Cisco monitors social channels.
The tweet was quickly removed but it didn't lose it's power.  Cached copies of the tweet were uncovered and it became a major social blunder.  It's possible that the job offer was rescinded because of this social media blunder.  At the end of the day, this incident falls into … (9 comments)

Another City, a Home Stager and a Camera... - 06:01 PM
I never knew how enjoyable photography could be until I started my home staging company. Admittedly I am not the best photographer but I do have an eye for detail, and "shooting" interiors for the last 3 years has helped me learn some camera skills. During a recent business trip to Toronto I became enamored with the abundance of historical buildings juxtaposed against the soaring, modern skyline. Talk about curb appeal! I didn't have much time away from work however I did manage to take more than 300 architectural photos (mostly drive by). These are some of my favorites. I hope … (16 comments)

How Billy Staples affected this Main Line Realtor. - 10:32 AM
Have you ever gone to an event or party, expecting one thing, only to be completely surprised and changed by the unexpected?  Well, that is what happended to me last week, and I thought it would make a good blog post.
During my weekly meeting at the Spring-Ford Rotary, a member of the Pottstown Rotary would come in, pitching for us member to come see Billy Staples, and hear his baseball stories.  Now, I like baseball, but I am no die-hard fan.  Of course, having the Philadephia Phillies win the 2008 World Series did make me more of a fan, but … (0 comments)

Attic Fire's new website - 12:01 PM
In December of 2007, I brought Attic Fire to your attention.  I now see Attic Fire Architecture Photography is a member of Activerain.  What I want you to do is take a look at their website again.  Things have been changed up and it's worth the time to view current before after shots.  All I can say is WOW.  Now that's some good real estate photography.

Is your target audience and your target market finding each other? - 11:15 PM
Your target audience and your target market can be two very different things, but if they are, then you, my friend, are doing a very big disservice to your marketing time and budget. You see, if you come talk to me I will tell you my target market is first time home buying families in the Beaverton, Oregon, area. Then if you ask me what my target audience is when it comes to my blogs, well guess what, it is the same audience.
It may seem weird, but what if my target market was the Summerfield neighborhood of Tigard, Oregon, and … (39 comments)

They Don't Teach This Showing Skill In Real Estate Class, Good Thing Too - 06:53 AM
Sometimes, you just never know how a showing is going to go. Showing houses on Sunday, my clients and I came to the last one of six.
Opened the lockbox, got the key, inserted it into the front door and nothing. That key was just not going to open that door. Try as we might, it looked like we would have to pass.
As I was putting the key away, I called the listing agent to let her know and guess what, she actually lives in the neighborhood. She can be there in two minutes with a key to the back … (20 comments)

Profound Statement - 06:48 PM
What a profound short little paragraph that says it all!       "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the       wealthy out of freedom.  What one person receives without working       for, another person must work for without receiving. The government       cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first       take from somebody else.  When half of the people get the idea that       they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care       of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good … (0 comments)

semi WORDLESS WEDNESDAY- March went out like a Deer in North Carolina - 07:36 AM

In a follow up to my post  March coming in like a lion in Apex on March 3, this is North Carolina on March 31, going out like a lamb deer.. We have a beautiful warm sunny day. The tree are just starting to bloom. And to make it even more perfect, I was visited by my deer family.
There are actually 4 deer here, but 2 were lying down while these 2 stood guard about 30 feet from my back door where I was standing.  I talk to them very softly and they'll just stand there and listen. My daughter … (8 comments)

What Happened to Me Last Night? - 12:56 PM
OK my dear readers, every now and then something profound happens in our lives that changes everything we've ever come to know and love.
Well last night, that happened to me. It came in the form of a dream as I was sleeping. Now I typically don't sleep very well and dreams are just something I've heard of or read about in books.

But last night my dreams were pretty vivid.
This wasn't one of those dreams about puppies and kittens, butterflies and rainbows.

No folks, that would have been just way too easy! I would have welcomed one … (39 comments)

Atlanta Home Prices Decline More than News Stories Report! - 12:04 AM
Is last months news on today's headlines really the way to go?  I don't think so.  I would want to know the most recent news in this current real estate market...wouldn't you?   The press is celebrating the decline in Atlanta's home price today as not being bad as some other areas in the country where the national average home price decline was 19%.  The Case Schiller index has the price of the average Atlanta home price in January as falling only 14.3% as opposed to January a year earlier.  The fact of the matter is don't start celebrating a bottom yet.  That was … (12 comments)

Where's Your Canoe Or Kayak - Paddling A Maine River Or Stream In Spring! - 05:10 AM
After a Maine winter, part of the renewal process of spring is planning to be in your local canoe race. Some trips down the local waterway are done by black belt kayakers pushing to beat their time of last season. Others a leisurely drift following the current with boatful of family glad to celebrate the annual tradition. In Houlton Maine, the Meduxnekeag River Canoe Race was started by Ricker College, taken over and guided for many years by the Houlton Rotary Club and in more recent years, the tradition kept alive by Peter Blood and Clint Cushman, two local high … (0 comments)

SO MUCH FOR SPRING! ~ Portsmouth NH Real Estate~www.patricia4realestate.com - 08:44 PM
So much for spring!  Well the calendar says it's spring but today in the Live Free or Die State of NH it was anything but spring. The car was crusted with ice and the temperature was 30 degrees when I looked out the window this morning at 6:30. And so it was in seacoast NH most of the day cloudy and dreary with wind. Now you've heard the adage, "if you don't like the weather in NH just wait an hour or so....it'll change." So true...I just heard the forcast for tomorrow and they are expecting nice weather with some un … (2 comments)

Extreme Makeover Home Edition Indianapolis Update - 01:24 PM
After spending parts of two days on the Extreme Makeover Home Edition site in Indianapolis, it is time to share some impressions.  And no, I am not talking about what the house is like.  There are regular photos and news reports.  There have been spectators ranging from a few dozen to a few hundred.  (Yes, it does seem different seeing spectators standing across the street watching a construction site.  But maybe not so strange since a few days earlier it was the site of a small home in need of repairs.)
At one time on the second floor, I counted about … (0 comments)
