Sometimes my world seems quite small and not so spectacular. The center of this flower is a very small world and yet look at the beauty and brightness of it... and the smell is wonderful. In fact, the yellow in the center looks like the sun about to burst forth from behind something. Sometimes that's the way it is in our small worlds... not quite as sunny as we would like, but that sun is about to spring forth! Photo courtesy of Morguefile.com
Bomber, here, follows a philosophy that Don and I have followed for years: “Make the most of what you have.” Bomber doesn’t have a REAL FRISBEE but he doesn’t let that stop him. He carries around a bucket lid just begging someone to play frissbee with him. Bomber is a client’s dog. Isn’t he adorable? He's a pretty smart dog too! He knows to look around for something to accomplish your goals! And He wanted to play frisbee IN THE RAIN. We've had soooo much rain, bridges, closed, ground is a pool everywhere, but did that bother Lucky? (7 comments)
Help! The person who owns the house I rent is in foreclosure. (Really a part II) - 06:08 PM
In August of 2007, I posted an article about this. I went back today and re-read it. It's funny how views change (even my own) over time, isn't it? At that time, we had only had a handful of the properties we manage go into default. We would "play it by ear" on whether or not to cancel with the owners. We had (notice the past tense) an office in the Antelope Valley of SoCal. We were up to about 30 properties under management out there when the perfect storm of foreclosures hit. I am not going to write about the storm (6 comments)
Do The Right Stuff! Ask this guy about doing the right stuff and he'll tell you. Short, simple and to the point. You need a pan, a donkey, the right tools and lots of stamina, and all the while you must stay focused on what you're looking for...gold. When you're looking for your gold mine in real estate, you need to do the same stuff over and over and over again. And then start all over. It's not complicated. It's not hard. It's not rocket science. Just do it. Here are the tools the agents in our office are taught to follow every day. Not (126 comments)

Working Hard These Days? Join The Club - 05:27 PM
Do you ever feel like this dog here trying to get your share of the peanut butter? Working Hard These Days? Join The Club. Maybe it is the economy cycle we are in. More time and effort for the same or less dollars. Don't know if it makes you feel any better, but you are not alone in what is going on. Some of it is the high level of productivity we have achieved. I make it a game sometimes to see if I can handle multitasking at the three or four times at once level. It is borderline insane. Thinking out of the box, being different, using latest technology! That is what I've loved in my business - we can create so many new things and advertise in so many different ways. I don’t need no stinking website, I got your website right here! - 11:27 PM
The new age of the web is here, and though many still don’t have websites, blogs, Facebook, or Twitter accounts, they are still making it in this business just fine on referrals. But what about those of us that thrive on what the web have given us and know that in 15 years we too, can live only on our referrals?
So, do you need a website? Some say yes, but I’m starting to think no. WHY? Why do we need a website? Right now I have over 1000 websites! Each and every one of my posts that is posted (14 comments)

Green Homes? Cut the Bull! - 10:43 AM
In real estate we often go off on tangents that become gospel but never pass the muster under a microscope. As far as I am concerned the latest in hype term in real estate is "Green!" First of all I am pro environment, and energy efficiency, but all the hype in our business about "green" controlling the market...well it is just hype. It is not so! All the post I read on "Green Homes" are obviously being written by those that do not sell homes. Buyers want a good home in a great location for commuting and in a good school district. Remember How The Lights Dim When Something Power Hungry Comes On At Your Home? - 05:52 AM
Think of yourself as carrying, wearing around a personal fourplex power body socket. And recall how even with the best of wiring, periodically something in your home will fire up to dim the lights during start up. In farm homes, sometimes it's the water pump, or the daughters plugging in curling irons at the same time. Or ever heard a generator on a job site that sounds suddenly burdened, laboring when the skill saw starts up? In In life, think of having only "x" amount of energy and how you use it, what demands and saps it. On the way to (0 comments)
