Addison, TX became a safe-haven for some fleeing the destructive winds and rains of hurricanes Ike, Rita and Katrina. The doors to Loos Field House were opened to those evacuees seeking shelter. Some families even brought their pets with them.
There is an interesting trend going on in communications on the internet this year. The shift is obviously starting to make some type of move away from the typical email. Why? I really don't have an exact answer, but it is fascinating to hear how people are contacting me. This past week, I have been contacted about business questions on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Active Rain from my sphere. These are people that have my email address, yet they contact me through other sources. I did ask one, and they said that they were not at their computer and could not remember … (7 comments)
I've celebrated over 30 years of Mother's Day with my mother. As each year passes, I begin to understand the significance of her role in my life more. The last 2 Mother's Day (2007 and 2008) really meant something to me because "I was celebrated" as a mother to my now-19-month old son, Boomer.
