YEO - Maintaining Contact With Thousands. Why Do You Care? - 02:20 AM
I've had several discussions with Jeff Turner about managing one's online presence and creating meaningful relationships. It's easy to get caught up with the numbers game and satisfy the ego by having thousands of followers, but what does it all mean? Lets face it if you have a thousand followers that dont give a rip what you have to say, then why bother. The key to effective blogging or twittering is to have a community or network of followers who actually do care what you have to say and that have influence on your posts. Facebook is a good example of how people can have meaningless online relationships, yet (0 comments)

Is Google a Scraper Site? - 10:34 AM
Is Google a Scraper site? If not then why is NAR lumping Google and all search engines together in the same policy? On this post you wil read the conversation Morgan Carey had with Cliff Niersbach concerning this policy.
If you don't know what I am talking about, then you need to read the following posts and get a grasp of this issue before us. Colleen and Joe Lane posted on it this week, and it was featured. Refinancers and Home Buyers: Here's When Your First Mortgage Payment is Due - 09:27 AM
A first-time home buyer in Sacramento asked me when her first mortgage payment would be due. So, I figured if she doesn't know when her first mortgage payment is due, others, even those who are refinancing an existing mortgage, may have the same question. First, understand that the interest portion of your mortgage payment, which constitutes almost your entire payment, is calculated in arrears. Unlike a rent payment, which is paid in advance, a mortgage payment is paid for the previous month. Sound confusing? It sort of is. Say, for example, that you closed escrow today, on May 9th. Your first (5 comments)
Southern Nevada resales up in April - 06:09 PM
There is some optimism in the dry desert air that the Las Vegas real estate market is hitting bottom. At long last. Perhaps. It's still too early, though, to go into any definitive announcements about that. The patient's vital signs do remain quite mixed, that's why.In any case, 3,198 single-family homes were closed in April, as was reported by GLVAR, or Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. In the year-to-year comparison that adds up to a big leap of over 78% and on a month-to-month basis it translates into a solid 7% gain from March. These numbers warm a lot of hearts in (6 comments)
Making Addison More Pet-Friendly - 10:21 AM
Addison, TX became a safe-haven for some fleeing the destructive winds and rains of hurricanes Ike, Rita and Katrina. The doors to Loos Field House were opened to those evacuees seeking shelter. Some families even brought their pets with them. To better prepare for future emergencies, the secretary at the Addison Athletic Club is collecting no longer needed pet supplies. If you have any of the items below, please drop them off with Betsy Sterns at the Addison (TX) Athletic Club on Beltway Drive. Addison Election Results, 2009 - 08:17 PM
The votes are in and have been counted. Hopefully everyone can get back to their lives now that "silly season" is over. Joe Chow has been re-elected as Mayor. This will be his third term. Kimberly Lay has been elected to fill the one-year term created due to the untimely passing of Councilmember Dennis Kraft. Kimberly had been appointed to fill his position until the election. The three councilmembers elected for two-year terms are Blake Clemens, Don Daseke, and Bianca Noble. Don was appointed to fill the short-term vacancy left when Councilman Todd Meier resigned to run for Mayor. Congratulations to (4 comments)
Chinese Restaurant in New Port Richey Florida: Asian Buffet recently opened at 7209 SR 54 in Pasco Square in New Port Richey. As some people already know I am Chinese too on both my mother and my father's side which is rare in Florida but the norm in Hawai'i :) One of my favorite things to do is to eat Chinese food. Usually Chinese restaurants cater to Americanized tastes. Sometimes a restaurant comes along and impresses me with its ability to appeal to American tastes while retaining its authenticity. This restaurant is one of them. One indication is that (2 comments)
So where is our sphere communication....Email? Facebook? LinkedIn? Active Rain? - 01:46 PM
There is an interesting trend going on in communications on the internet this year. The shift is obviously starting to make some type of move away from the typical email. Why? I really don't have an exact answer, but it is fascinating to hear how people are contacting me. This past week, I have been contacted about business questions on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Active Rain from my sphere. These are people that have my email address, yet they contact me through other sources. I did ask one, and they said that they were not at their computer and could not remember (7 comments)
What Mother's Day Mean to me now... - 06:28 PM
I've celebrated over 30 years of Mother's Day with my mother. As each year passes, I begin to understand the significance of her role in my life more. The last 2 Mother's Day (2007 and 2008) really meant something to me because "I was celebrated" as a mother to my now-19-month old son, Boomer. Motherhood has not been easy for me. It was not blissful and certainly not a bed of roses unlike experiences of many close friends. Motherhood has challenged me beyond my dreams. I never thought that motherhood was going to be easy, but I didn't know how much (12 comments)
