Keyword Rich Titles + ActiveRain = Page 1 Results - 05:12 PM
In yesterday's webinar about RealBird and ActiveRain, Katerina Gasset touched on the importance of writing keyword rich titles for our blog posts. It's advice I've heard several times before, but don't always have front of mind when a post idea hits me. Sometimes I just write.
Last night I wrote the first in a series of posts about the Henderson REO market titled "Henderson Nevada Bank Owned Homes: Inventory Overview, 06-06-09". It's just a quick intro, a few paragraphs and some basic statistics.

How many poeple joke about the real estate broker making money and not doing much for it? Again, one must be in the shoes of the real estate broker. Ok, here are my two ideas. The first is when someone who is not an Activerain member, maybe just a consumer, they can put in their contact information at the bottom of their comments and the only one to see that content is the author.
The second one is one that I really want! I thought I would throw the slow pitch first, then go for the big one.

DO YOU ADMIT THAT YOU TAKE TIME OFF? - 12:01 AM
In a business where we are truly "on call" most waking hours, it can be a wonderful treat when it is discovered that there is an "empty" day.  It's not that we don't love what we do, but as with any other career, we need our "off time", just to avoid burn out.
So, there we are, knee deep in garden dirt or leisurely riding our bicycle, shopping or having a fun outing with our children and our phone rings.  Of course, we answer it...after all, it is attached to our hip!

You think I am kidding. How could things not change in one of the worst markets in history? Well I am in Brentwood California and I did my research. Here are the facts:
Three years ago you could hardly find any properties around here for $500,000.00.
Today I checked the MLS again and you can still hardly find any properties for $500,000.00.

Figuring the value of a home and what price to list it at can be one of the biggest challenges we face as agents. If you read my post you know that price per SF is a number I like. It is not perfect, but it is a good starting point.

Topsy Turvey - 1 Month Later- 2 Bright Red, SWEET Tomatoes!! - 07:59 AM
Back on May 4, I planted a tomato plant in a topsy turvey.  I gave an update of the process here.  I decided to go this route because I had tried for several years to grow tomatoes and I could never get past a couple of weeks without them dying.
It's now been just over a month, and look at what I have!!  I took them off the vine yesterday.  I was so excited. I let them sit on my window sill for a couple of hours before slicing into one...

REOs - How Do You Break The Ice? - 09:44 AM
I want to break into the REO market so badly, but I'm spinning my wheels trying to figure out how.  I attended a Lion's Gate Financial seminar in Warwich, RI the other day about training for it and learned how to make a great resume and approach asset managers to get the listings, but you have to pay $1000+ for the rest of the training that'll show you how to find them and the rest of what to do.  I've been doing BPOs for a few companies here and there, but never have I gotten a call for a listing on … (9 comments)

Before you panic, take a moment and think:  What browser am I using?  If the answer is Mircosoft Internet Explorer, just take a deep breath, and copy the URL from which you are trying to download.
Close Internet Explorer.
Start up Firefox.  Paste in the URL, and problem is solved:

Knox County real estate transfers for the week of June 7th - 02:30 PM
The first full week of June turned out to be a fizzle for real estate transfers recorded at the Knox County Register of Deeds office, dropping to just 50 recorded transfers from a high of 187 back on April 12 of 2009.
In fact I believe 50 is the worst week we’ve had thus far in 2009.
