Is NYC Up For Sale? - 09:55 AM
Luke Constantino| August 1, 2009 Everyone here knows about the large stores lie Virgin Records and Circuit City closing their doors here, but it's more than you think. There have been more stores and avenues empty than I have ever seen ever in NYC. A lot of specialty and gourmet shops have closed in the past year. On some residential blocks you can see 3-6 "For Sale" signs on houses, especially in the Queens and Staten Island area. They say "It's the Perfect Time to Buy" with the low prices, large inventory, low mortgage rates and the ever so popular 8,000

First time homebuyers 8,000 Dollar Tax Credit: Thinking of fraud? Think again… - 04:27 PM
Luke Constantino| August 1st 2009 There are many first time homebuyers out there who will be taking advantage of the 8,000 dollar First time Home-Buyer credit that was passed in 2008 and goes on until December 1st of 2009. As many good things we get as relief from the government come, so do people who want to commit fraud. "We will vigorously pursue anyone who falsely tries to claim this or any other tax credit or deduction," said Eileen Mayer, Chief, IRS Criminal Investigation. "The penalties for tax fraud are steep. Taxpayers should be wary of anyone who promises to get

CSP's Staff and Canadian Instructor Duncan Scott get rave reviews.... - 05:13 PM
Two weeks ago one of CSP's Staging Certification Instructors, Duncan Scott, received several glowing fan mail letters from his students. A group of women, who dubbed themselves, "Duncan's 6F Girls" (CSP has a proprietory 8-7-6-5 way of remembering the important aspects of staging, which include the 6Fs, required for proper staging) had nothing but positive words to say about their experience with Certified Staging Professionals, which was all the more impressive considering some had already been trained by other staging companies. One of the women, Beverly Tollofson, from Guelph Ontario had this to say.... "I am new to the Home Staging business. I had originally taken the (removed

Using only what you have staging CAN make a HUGE DIFFERENCE! - 05:42 PM
This past week I was proud to have a great class of students in my CSP Class in Charleston, SC! After spending 30 hours of greuling class time, our students left mind boggled and mind numbed from all the things they learned. They also left with a great begginers portfolio from an occupied home that they transformed. After staging the entire home in just 6.5 hours, and using ONLY what the homeowners had in the property, they really learned the value that staging provides and how/why they need to price their services at a fair market price.

"I JUST GOTTA SELL SOME HOUSES..." - 06:05 PM
"I just gotta sell some houses." It's my answer to almost everything. So simple. So attainable, yet somehow, such a challenge. I say it about three times per day. My wife laughs at me now... We need a bigger place? I just gotta sell some houses. Gas prices on the rise? I just gotta sell some houses. We really could use a new car? I just gotta sell some houses. We need money for the downpayment? You guessed it. I just gotta sell some houses... Ken A Realtor you can trust.

Chandler Mall - 12:48 PM
The Chandler mall is just off of the 101 freeway just North of the loop 202. This is one of the largest malls in the south east valley residing in Chandler Arizona. The mall offer just about every store you can imagine plus an array of fine dinning to fast food. Some of my favorite restaurants near the mall are The KEG, Abuelo's Mexican Food, PF Changs and I can`t forget the Olive Garden. This mall is just 15 minutes from a spectacular master planned community called Ocotillo. The website www.OcotilloLiving.com outlines many homes that are on the market for sale. These

Woriking Selling New Homes - 01:18 PM
I have been in New Home sales since May 20,2009. The first community they place me in was in Grand Prairie tx. Grand Prairie is located south of Dallas next to Arlington. It was a nice community and we got a decent amount of traffic. My first month there I was fortunate to sell 3 homes. The homes were beautiful and my Model was beautiful. I really liked my clients as well. When I first came to the company I was in training 1/2 the time so the rest of the time I was trying to sell. New Home sales are

Kentwood Michigan Golfer Plays PGA 2009 Final Buick Open - 04:05 PM
We all love a success story. This one is about a local Kentwood graduate, Matthew Harmon, who was Michigan's Mr Golf 2002-3, went on to play golf for Michigan State University and is now on the Nationwide and NGA Hooters Golf Tours trying to make it to the PGA Tour. He got a big break this week. Let us tell you his story: He was 4 under par playing his final qualifying round for the Buick Open when his caddy (and brother-in-law) Nick, stepped into a bunker to pick up a rake he was planning on using after Matt hit his shot and then raked his

Managing Expectations - 02:56 PM
In the last couple of days there have been rumblings about "the bottom" and even a cover story in Newsweek entitled The Recession is Over * (note: the asterisk). If you watch CNBC at all and you happen to catch a little of it before you tuned in Oprah on Friday you would have heard all manner of people getting all giddy about the stock market rally, and, most notably, about the fact that the economy didn't shrink as much as expected. That bears repeating -- the economy did not shrink as much as expected. It did not grow/expand. It just

Midtown Memphis - Architectural/design features - 07:30 PM
I couldn't resist sharing the interesting window and interior door casings is a 1928 English-influenced bungalow in the Vollintine-Evergreen section of Midtown Memphis. The Midtown Section of Memphis is a treasure of bungalows buillt between 1920 and 1930, in a variety of styles. Most of the original red gum casings and moldings have long been painted over, so it is a real treat to find the beautiful, smooth-grained original wood. I have never seen this type of casing corners, though.(also not the dainty picture rail running all the way to the window on the right.

Thomas Wolfe was wrong, I can go home again - 05:20 PM
Two months ago after the death of my mother, we sold the second home I ever lived in up to college. In 1959 my dad was a successful executive, and having a new home built was a prestige, yes I have made it kind of status symbol. It was a stacked stone beauty and for the first time I had a bedroom to my own. But when the house closed I had no sense of nostalgia, nor any sense that the home had a presence in my life anymore. I missed my mother terribly, but that was no our house, 3149

Katy Christian Ministries to Open New Larger Re-Sale Shop in Katy - 12:27 PM
Katy Christian Ministries is opening a new larger re-sale shop in the old K-Mart location Mason Rd. It is on the opposite side of Mason from the present location. The store will more than double in size from it's present 19,000 sqft to around 39,000sqft. Mona loves shopping at KCM...she not only finds a few nuggets from the enormous selection of products they carry, she, as many Katy residents feel, is donating to a great cause. Every year we evaluate all we have and make a donation to KCM....this is an organization that does a lot of good in the Katy
