POSTAL Code Lookup...Ouch! Wikipedia is Amazing - 05:38 AM
Why would anyone want to search by Postal Codes?  Sheesh...
I have a number of requests every week from out of town buyers who are not familiar with the city.  They send me partial postal codes from their friends, assuming that this will clear up confusion in my searches.  It's easier to cut-and-paste what their friends said was a great neighborhood instead of learning the actual name of the areas, I suppose.  I'm all for hard numbers and codes and specificity and, more than that, I'm all for a good challenge and learning a new skill to help stay on my … (5 comments)

START of 365 Things to do in Greenwich, CT - 01:20 AM
Here goes. Today is day 1 of 365 days and things to do in Greenwich, CT. While trying to figure out how to create an impressive site about our lovely town I decided that I need to get something going and put my feet on the ground. I would have used the expression “pen to paper” but no one uses either of those anymore.
I have a million and 1 ideas of how to build an incredible town website, but don’t know where to start. In my search for examples of what others have done I came across “365 Things to … (2 comments)

THING 1 - Going for a drive on Round Hill Road - 01:22 AM

How do I start this whole campaign? What should I begin with? What do I miss the most when I’m away? The first thing that always comes to mind after being away (especially since my vehicles started to improve) is the drive on Round Hill Road, specifically the first mile or so. This has to be the best mile in the northeast (hey, it’s my blog I can make whatever statements I want). This is the easiest place in Greenwich to feel like a race car driver - no turn is too tight or too wide – perfect pavement to … (0 comments)

THING 2 - Babcock Preserve - 02:24 PM

Walking, hiking, running, horseback riding, mountain biking and cross country skiing are all activities that Greenwich residents enjoy at Babcock. The preserve takes up 297 acres of Greenwich forest and includes a vast network of trails and abandoned roads. Many different local walking and hiking groups meet up here on a regular basis. It’s a great location to go for a 15 minute walk or 3 hour hike with the entire family (canines and all). Babcock is of my favorite spots to get away without traveling far. I used to mountain bike all throughout Babcock as a kid, but now … (1 comments)

Foreclosures, Short Sales and High Inventory, Oh My!!! - 09:55 AM
If you are in a market for a new home, then I am sure these terms are swirling around in your head.  In an unprecedented buyer's market where there are tons of choices and history making low-interest rates it may still seem difficult to jump into this market.

You are uncertain. Bank requirements are changing and there is a different article coming out each week telling you to "buy now" or "it's better to rent."  You don't know what to do and it's understandable.

But, home ownership (if you are financially ready) can be a great way to start … (2 comments)

Villa Park the best city in the U.S. - 05:35 PM
Villa Park California the best City in the U.S. by Ron Accornero
What makes Villa Park such a great City?  I think it is the size of the city and the fact that everyone knows each other.  It is a friendly city and there are a lot of social events that keep people together.  One of the most impressive  things about Villa Park is when one of the home owners is sick, or has an accident, one of the groups in Villa Park, either the Woman's league Angels or the Villa Park Rotary provides meals to the family until they are … (0 comments)

How is this slow economy affecting the Value of my home? - 05:45 PM
How is the slow economy  affecting the Value of my home?
By Ron Accornero

People are wondering in today's market,  "how much is my home now worth"?  They know the market is down, but they really haven't a good idea of how much it is down. Real Estate values in our area are down approximately 30 to 35 percent from the high in 2006.  If you are planning to sell your property in the next three to five years you are going to have to adjust your selling price in order to sell your property. Remember that property values will not … (0 comments)

Understanding The 20/40/10 Term - 11:51 AM

When purchasing auto insurance, your agent may mention that the minimum required limits are "20/40/10″.  Let's take a closer look at what this means.  "20″ is the limit that your carrier will pay for bodily injury to one person per accident.  This means that if you hurt somebody with your vehicle, your insurance will pay that person $20,000 for their medical bills.  "40″ is the limit that your carrier will pay for all people injured in an accident.  This number is a little tricky.  Let's say you run a red light and smash into a sedan full of people.  … (0 comments)
