I was recently listening to a friend complain about the fact that she could not get good service or even basic attention at many stores and businesses these days. You know what I mean, "Old Fashioned Service" and here is the funny thing, she is only 26 years old. I have been hearing the same thing for years and with the advent of Big Box Retail, Megastores, and Corporate empires along with a lack of personal involvement on the part of many business owners I see this happening at many businesses locally. I love dimmer switches; I use them to control almost every light in my house.Installing a dimmer switch is a common enough DIY project, but like any other DIY project, I often find them installed improperly. The most common problem I find is when dimmer switches are connected to a ceiling fan.

I was reading another agent's blog this morning about dealing with a screwball situation and unreasonable demands. I made the comment that the icky part of the real estate business is when an agent has to choose between being honest and getting more business. Because sometimes when an agent tells a client the truth, that person is unprepared to hear it. Not only that, but because the client doesn't want to hear the truth or refuses to believe the truth, that person will look unfavorably upon the agent. CLEAN. Yes I know that may seem obvious to you and me but apparently not to all sellers, because today I got an eyeful of bugs. And yucky toilet stuff. Did I mention spider webs big enough for Hallowe'en decorations? And that was without my glasses on. Ugh.If you do NOTHING else, have your home professionally cleaned before, during and after you have it on the market for sale. Before you even think of staging your home, before you let the realtor put the sign in the yard, CLEAN.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Realtor:
Why are so many agents opposed to flat fee listings? I have heard that this is stealing listings from real agents, that they are impossible to show, it's too hard to work with the sellers, the listing agents are lazy and don't know what they are doing, and many other reasons. I do agree with some of these, but sometimes I think that most agents just fear them because they don't understand them or have not worked with a company that has a good system in place.

Why wait another day? I mailed in my absentee ballot today. I figured why wait until next week? I believe that this is one of the most important things that we as citizens of this great country can do. Too many people do not vote and I think that is inexcusable. 
RE/MAX = FEE/MAX? No Way! It's More Like FREE/MAX! Ask any outside real estate agent what they think of when they think of RE/MAX and you'll often get the comment "FEE/MAX". Hi guys. I need a cash buyer for this property today. 3 bedroom 1.5 bath pool home located about 3 blocks from Lake Howard in Winter Haven Florida. 1/4 acre fenced lot. 
I'm spending a lot of time working on my planning for next year. I have written a couple of posts about it and I'm thinking of any designations that will be worthwhile to pursue this next year. Since there are so many that are done by many companies, some are not recognized by NAR. I don't mind getting a designation that is not recognized by NAR, but want to know the education that is associated with it is worthwhile and can benefit me in my business.
Geez Louise! I have heard furnace people say it's not worth it, but after reading this article I think it makes sense to do duct cleaning when you purchase a home, especially a home that has had major or minor repairs. Thought I would pass along!
The weather folks in Wisconsin have forecast extremely high winds for the next 2 days...the utilities are preparing crews for downed power lines, any lawn furniture has been exported from patios and decks to garages and basements...any loose anything anywhere is secured as best it can be.
