ActiveRain & Kodak Contest: What Would You Do With the Money You Save on Ink? - 11:14 PM
Kodak is intent on becoming a trusted source for the best education, best practices and best technology for real estate professionals. It makes sense that an industry giant would team up with ActiveRain, the real estate network where agents come to get the best education, share the best practices and learn about the newest technologies. One technology that, on its surface, has changed very little over the years is printer ink. Nothing could be further from reality. Kodak's proprietary pigment ink technology has made ink affordability a reality and doesn't require you to compromise on quality. One common complaint agents have with (191 comments)

Appraisals - ARGH! - 11:31 AM
Despite hearing lots of talk about appraisal challenges, I've been fortunate to avoid these issues with the exception of a duplex property that I had under contract back in January. Unfortunately, we weren't able to work that deal out, but I found the buyer a new home, and that was that. Flash forward ten months, and I've now encountered the dreaded low appraisal on a listing. It's a very unique home in an established area where most properties have less square footage, smaller lots, and minimal upgrades / updates. I received a copy of the appraisal report and was distressed in seeing (0 comments)

Halloween Homes - 06:55 PM
Recently I wrote a blog post Glenview Road In Autumn and I kept a few images of Halloween Homes for November 1st.
Few blocks down the road some heads are hanging. Luckily it was day time.

I bet no one was walking alone at night the last few days ...

Realtor.org Helps Me Save Money I am learning to be more frugal with my dollars these days. I know most people are. So I try to find ways to make my spending more effective. Paying It Forward - Help Is Sometimes Closer Than You Think - 03:46 PM
In the greater scheme of things, going to the supermarket is never top on my list of fun things to do. It was midday, I was between appointments and it was a perfect time to get the weekly shopping over with. I wandered aimlessly through the aisles, my mind a million miles away. I piled things haphazardly in my cart, rushing past the staples in search of some goody to make the trip worthwhile. By the time I reached the checkout lines I was mentally preparing for my next appointment. I couldn't help but notice the woman in front of me. Dressed simply, she (8 comments)

Call my Former Agent and Make her Expire the Contract ! - 07:43 AM
Sometimes agents are not sooo quick to expire listings..despite the official paper signing being completed and the sellers believing that the contract is expired...the relationship ended...the sign will be picked up....there will be listing in MLS...and then....for whatever reason.it didn't happen....you are ready to start the listing..promotional guns blazing...and your little voice tells you to look in MLS.
Ready Set Whooooops !
The client says...start the listing...he produces the paperwork that shows that the lisitng has expired but there it is...ACTIVE....in MLS...you call and e-mail the seller and let him know that you cannot start the (93 comments)
Are you on the search for a new home? Are you a first-time home buyer ready to enter the market? Then a buyers market is right where you want to be! Recent years have turned many real estate markets on their heads. One-time hotbeds for rapid appreciation and booming sales have turned into areas rampant with dropping prices and foreclosures. Making matters even more complicated, is the realization that every market is different. Even neighborhoods within cities have varying markets. How can you tell if you are living in an area experiencing a buyers market? Key Indicators: (0 comments)
When you feel a chill in the air and the leaves start to turn (okay, not so much in San Diego) but certainly in other parts of the country, then you know it’s time to load up the fireplaces with wood, close up the windows, and turn on the floors. Turn on the floors? Yes, radiant heating is as attractive to cold toes as peanut butter is to jelly--they just go together. These days radiant floors are becoming more popular especially for those interested in green design. There are several benefits for the environment and your pocketbook. As (1 comments)
More qualified homeowners struggling with unemployment or under-employment in additional states have been targeted by two expanded foreclosure-prevention efforts from the Obama administration. First, from the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Housing Finance Agency (HFA) Innovation Fund for the Hardest Hit Housing Markets (the Hardest Hit Fund), comes $2 billion in additional assistance available for HFA programs for homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments due to unemployment. Earlier this year the Hardest Hit Fund launched with $1.5 billion going to only five states Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan and Nevada, where home values have fallen more than 20 (0 comments)
