Winning with a Purpose - Part II - 07:35 AM
Yesterday, I wrote about Winning with a Purpose -Part I with views of our real estate business which should be geared towards OUR CLIENTS (in its purest form). I shared my views of the servanthood attitude one must have towards the business. Today, Winning with a Purpose - Part II talks about the COMPETITION, or better yet aligning yourself with like-minded professionals who will love on each other and to build upon each others' strength, experience and expertise. Yes, it can happen if we let it to. In Barbara Todaro's featured post, Who is Your Competition - the comments and feedback (11 comments)

Homes for Sale in Freeport Maine had a slow mont this past October. Freeport currently has an inventory of 86 homes. Out of this inventory only 3 home sales took place last month. This reflects a 67% decrease in transactions from October 2009 and a 40% decrease from just last month in September. The average sales price for these Southern Maine homes in Freeport, Maine was 275K. This price represents an 11% decline from 2009 and a 24% decline from September 2010. With these large changes in the numbers it does not seem that the Maine Coastal Real Estate market is going to (1 comments)

There's not much that I can add here that isn't covered in the video below. I tried for several hours to get YouTube to process this one, then realized that Viddler would work just as well. Hope you can join us tomorrow to hear Laura Fitton (@pistachio on Twitter). She knows her stuff! By the way, I just edited the title above - the show is always on Tuesday. :)
Hope you can make it, or catch the recording afterwards. Thanks! (27 comments)
"No that commute time is not realistic" - 07:45 AM
One of the areas that a new home buyer in Salt Lake City UT should concern themselves with is drive time. How much time is spent driving back and forth to work. James Downing posted an interesting article in his blog about the commute in Washington DC. I was particularly interested is his advise to use google maps to estimate the commute, prior to actually doing a test drive. Follow that advise if you like, but make the test drive in all kinds of traffic @ various rimes of the day. Every one knows that the commute from the the Eastern edge of (0 comments)
Got Blood - Donate Today! - 11:53 AM
My friends husband was in the hospital last week. He was feeling faint, had low energy and was pale. He went to the hospital and his blood level was at 30% of normal levels. He needed a blood transfusion. He is fine now but this got me thinking that we never know when we are going to need blood. We are fortunate here in Sonora California to have Delta Blood Bank. Delta Blood Bank is a non-profit, community blood bank and is the leading blood supplier for the San Joaquin Valley and Foothills area. Please give thanks this year for being (4 comments)
7 Things I'm Thankful For (redux) - 01:44 PM
So what are you thankful for? People oftentimes answer this question mentioning the typical things. They're thankful for their spouse (hopefully). They're thankful for their kids and grandkids (if they have any). They're thankful for their job (many are hurting in this area in our day). They're thankful for their health. And so on and so forth. Right? And these are all important things to be thankful for. Don't get me wrong. I would be the first to say it. But there are so many other things that we don't always highlight or think about when the bottom line is (3 comments)

You did WHAT!?? You called MY Seller? After you trespassed on his property no less! - 08:47 AM
You did WHAT!?? You called MY Seller? Come on now... you know better! A couple have been out doing a drive-by to look at another office's listing in a rural community in Choctaw County. On their way back to town, taking a slightly different route, they see one of my signs. So they stop. There doesn't appear to be anyone home so they pull into the drive-way, peek into the windows that they can... don't see any furniture...hmmmm. Start walking around on the land. Stored against one of the side fences is a large for sale sign (my seller did a (0 comments)
Full Timers Are NOT NECESSARILY Better Agents - 08:53 AM
Full Timers Are NOT NECESSARILY Better AgentsPart Time Agents Are NOT Necessarily Lesser AgentsOk, you need a real estate agent. Let me say that again --- You NEED a real estate agent IF you are buying or selling real estate.
It's NOT a matter of whether you FEEL you can afford to pay one or not. Statistics indicate that you will come out better in the end by working with an agent. Now that that's settled, which agent to work with? Do you rule out those that work another job in addition to real estate? I hope not. I (254 comments)
