Farm In Maine For Sale, 200 Acres Of Land, 2 Bath Log Home on Dead End Road. - 08:46 AM
Aroostook County is famous for farm land, fertile soil that you can grow anything in and get huge yields per acre and this Bridgewater Maine log home sits smack dab in the middle of prime dirt. Some of the fields are rented to a potato and grain farmer to pay the property taxes. Other open pasture areas are used by the white horse in the video below. More fields could be cultivate for crops, to raise some beef or dairy or just plant Christmas trees. The USDA's soil and water people would love to help you set up a red pine, (2 comments)
Gems, Jewels That Sparkle In Your Home Town...Do You Promote, Showcase Those, Not Just Real Estate? - 09:48 AM
The "where the property" is trumps the "what it is" details, listing propaganda. If everyone where you live has coal lung disease, the movie Deliverance might have been filmed there, the cute cape and rambling ranch are going to develop a case of "ten foot pole marks" syndrome. What does your area look like and do you post boat loads of the beauty, the benefits to living there on Flickr ? Show more than the sticks and bricks and lay down the skinny on the area in full living color (and video). If you just peddle the properties, nose to the grind (8 comments)
The Steak and Catfish Barn - 04:46 PM
If you love Steak and/or Catfish, you've undoubtedly heard about the Steak & Catfish Barn at I-35 and Waterloo. If you've been under a rock and missed out, get in the car right now and drive out to check this place out! It doesn't look like much from the outside. In fact, if I was just driving by with no knowledge of the greatness that is the Steak and Catfish Barn, I'd probably be sure to avoid the place, but it's so great that the Travel Channel even featured it not long ago in their fun Man v Food series. So, have (2 comments)

Using Google Instead of Bing on Blackberry - 08:56 AM
Just a quick tip for those of you who are not very technical... and don't like the Bing search engine on your Blackberry. I have a Verizon Blackberry 9650 Bold. I like everything about it except the fact that Verizon has Bing as the only available search engine in the Browser. I find the Blackberry version of Bing to be so clunky that I can't even use it. I was trying to search for 'Herndon Community Center' the other day and it could not find it. Really? What is the point of this search engine? I was getting around this by using (7 comments)
Holiday Miracle of our family, our health and our happiness - 06:01 PM
Sometimes it feels like there is so much cynicism and anger during days leading up to the holidays. The angry woman in the big SUV who had to have the parking place, the irritable young man in the grocery line yelling at the cashier, the frustrated Senior Citizen who has every coupon in her purse but the one that she needs. We are all in a super big hurry to GET IT ALL DONE. Merry Friggin' Christmas...Every year, after we open the presents, I try to sit back and think of the miracles that the year has brought us. I sit (6 comments)
Should you join a networking group? - 01:08 PM
Many real estate agents, inspectors, and loan officers make the decision to join a networking group in hopes of receiving referrals to increase their business. Before committing to a networking group, think it through to make sure it is the right decision for you and your business. 1.) Start a new group or join an existing group? If you plan on starting a new group it is going to take time to build and may result in less time spent working directly on your business. Groups do not always have openings for real estate agents (that slot fills up fast) so creating (11 comments)
Book Review: Making Ideas Happen: Overcoming the Obstacles Between Vision and Reality - 01:53 PM
I love a good business book! Recently on the way to do a little Home Staging Training in Indianapolis I decided to listen to my Amazon "suggested reading" list. I downloaded the book Making Ideas Happen: Overcoming the Obstacles Between Vision and Reality by Scott Belsky on my Kindle and got lost in the digital pages. While my flight was pretty short (and I had a chatty neighbor) I found a ton of information in the first half of the book (still have to finish the book - which I'll probably do on my trip to Florida after the holidays). Home Staging Can Make the "First Time" a Charm - 05:07 PM
Linda Barnett offers sound advice on helping sellers and agents understand the importance of staging their home. Location, pricing and CONDITION are all important parts of the equation. Staging a home for it's maximum appeal helps to separate one listing from another. Often the non-staged properties also help show the value of the staged one, showing the luxury nature of that more prepared and well-cared for property! Via Linda Barnett, Home Matters, Indianapolis, In (Home Matters, Home Staging Indianapolis, Indiana): How many realtors does it take to sell a home? This question may seem like the opening to a joke, but it's no (1 comments)

Del Norte Association of REALTORS Awards Luncheon - Fran Gatti, Top Producer - 01:19 AM
Yesterday was my local Board of REALTORs annual awards luncheon. Pictured here from left to right: Me (horrible picture of me. Our board handed out million and multi-million dollar awards. Agents are allowed to count any income obtained through the use of their real estate agent license, including property management fees and bonus'. Photo Phunny on Phriday - 11:33 AM
I would like to see your ideas about a caption for this picture. I've got a couple of them that are unique and need your expertise to define them a little better. So if you can muster up a decent one please place it in the comments here. Timing is everything they say, especially in gymnastics. Maybe a five word limit should be imposed also. Let your creativity flow!
Pet Friendly Neighborhoods on the Wane, Why is That? - 12:53 PM
Why are the "pet-friendly" neighborhoods going by the wayside? There are times when I feel horrible for pets only because of the actions their owners take when supposedly caring for them. Unfortunately the pet will never know or understand why they're treated so poorly or even have the understanding that life could be better somewhere else. They love unconditionally so there's little else they are concerned about other than the attention their masters show them.
It's mostly cats and dogs we're dealing with here but there are dozens of other household pets which need our help too. To be fair, (13 comments)
This is the 31 days of December challenge day 17. I checked emails and messages, later in day. Phone service is a bit sporadic in the frozen tundra. I went shopping and saw so many items that I could use in my inventory, would love to have a truck ship a load to Texas! Always find great deals and items when I'm not looking or in a different part of the country. I'm trying to not work while on vacation, but will return calls tomorrow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (3 comments)
