If you love Steak and/or Catfish, you've undoubtedly heard about the Steak & Catfish Barn at I-35 and Waterloo. If you've been under a rock and missed out, get in the car right now and drive out to check this place out! It doesn't look like much from the outside. Using Google Instead of Bing on Blackberry - 08:56 AM
Just a quick tip for those of you who are not very technical... and don't like the Bing search engine on your Blackberry.
I have a Verizon Blackberry 9650 Bold. I like everything about it except the fact that Verizon has Bing as the only available search engine in the Browser. I find the Blackberry version of Bing to be so clunky that I can't even use it. I was trying to search for 'Herndon Community Center' the other day and it could not find it. Really? What is the point of this search engine?

Many real estate agents, inspectors, and loan officers make the decision to join a networking group in hopes of receiving referrals to increase their business.  Before committing to a networking group, think it through to make sure it is the right decision for you and your business.

I love a good business book!  Recently on the way to do a little Home Staging Training in Indianapolis I decided to listen to my Amazon "suggested reading" list.  I downloaded the book Making Ideas Happen: Overcoming the Obstacles Between Vision and Reality by Scott Belsky on my Kindle and got lost in the digital pages. 
While my flight was pretty short (and I had a chatty neighbor) I found a ton of information in the first half of the book (still have to finish the book - which I'll probably do on my trip to Florida after the holidays).

Linda Barnett offers sound advice on helping sellers and agents understand the importance of staging their home.  Location, pricing and CONDITION are all important parts of the equation.  Staging a home for it's maximum appeal helps to separate one listing from another.  Often the non-staged properties also help show the value of the staged one, showing the luxury nature of that more prepared and well-cared for property!

Yesterday was my local Board of REALTORs annual awards luncheon. 
Pictured here from left to right:  Me (horrible picture of me.  Couldn't someone have told me to put my hair behind my ears or something?), Ana Hartwick and Rose Peasley the co-owner of our office, RE/MAX Coastal Redwoods.
Our board handed out million and multi-million dollar awards.  Agents are allowed to count any income obtained through the use of their real estate agent license, including property management fees and bonus'.  The boards fiscal year is from November of the preceding year to October of the current year.

Pet Friendly Neighborhoods on the Wane, Why is That? - 12:53 PM
Why are the "pet-friendly" neighborhoods going by the wayside?  There are times when I feel horrible for pets only because of the actions their owners take when supposedly caring for them.  Unfortunately the pet will never know or understand why they're treated so poorly or even have the understanding that life could be better somewhere else.  They love unconditionally so there's little else they are concerned about other than the attention their masters show them. 
 
It's mostly cats and dogs we're dealing with here but there are dozens of other household pets which need our help too.  To be fair, … (13 comments)

This is the 31 days of December challenge day 17.  I checked emails and messages, later in day. Phone service is a bit sporadic in the frozen tundra. 
I went shopping and saw so many items that I could use in my inventory, would love to have a truck ship a load to Texas!  Always find great deals and items when I'm not looking or in a different part of the country.
I'm trying to not work while on vacation, but will return calls tomorrow.
