West Valley City, UT - 2000-2009 - 10:23 AM
West Valley Homes sold more than doubled from 2000 to 2006.  Over the next few years, West Valley Real Estate sales decreased by about 550 home, most of which took place in 2008.  Sold price of homes in West Valley City decreased for a few years then took a big jump then decreased again.  With that in mind, prices are very close to where they were estimated to be according to the 4% appreciation from 2000.

Weekly Market Activity Report
Over the last three weeks, the number of new listings has grown at a stronger pace than we saw in 2009. For the week ending February 20, there were 1,833 new listings, an increase of 17.7 percent from a year ago. The recent uptick is likely a combination of the typical spring increase in activity coupled with the effects of the $6,500 tax credit available to move-up buyers. Consumers who have lived in their current residence for 5 of the last 8 years are eligible to receive the credit when they purchase a home before April 30.

Bellingham Wins $350,000 EPA Grant as Climate Showcase Community - 04:16 PM
Bellingham has just been awarded an  EPA grant as a Climate Showcase Community (CSC). The goal of the grant is to assist communities establish and implement climate change initiatives that will help reduce carbon emissions. 25 awards where given to 450 applicants.  Bellingham will use the grant funds to provide outreach and education on the Community Energy Challenge project, a collaboration with Sustainable Connections, Opportunity Council, Puget Sound Energy and RE Sources for Sustainable Communities.

Has the extended home buyers tax credit really helped? - 02:00 PM
You would think offering returning home buyers a tax credit of $6500 would get some buyers off the fence...but it really hasn't....with the unemployment rates rising and the uncertainty that is in the market place many people have just signed when they are told about the credit.
What is your experience on the Tax Credit? Have you had buyers that only purchased the home because of the Tax Credit?
My experience has been that the people that were going to purchase are happy they are getting the tax credit but it was not the reason they bought....they love the fact of … (0 comments)
