Federal pacific electrical panels and breakers, are they a fire waiting to happen? - 01:31 PM
I have seen a lot of Federal Pacific panels and breakers in homes I have sold.  The inspector identified them and I have almost always asked the seller to replace the electric panel with a new panel or give the buyer a credit for the panel. 
This is just another reason why home buyers need to have an home inspection performed by a licensed home inspector.  Safety first!!

Floor Time (or Opportunity Time) - How does your office handle it? - 03:57 PM
Hi Everyone.  An age old problem has cropped up again in our office.  Apparently they need people to cover floor again and the powers to be are asking (begging) for everyone to participate.  Here's an excerpt of our most recent email from our office broker:

St Petersburg Yacht Club Vintage Motor Classic - Straub Park - Downtown St Petersburg - 04:23 PM
Busy weekend in downtown St Petersburg with three big events going on: Ribfest at the  Vinoy Park, the  Home Show at Tropicana Field and the St Petersburg Yacht Club Vintage Motor Show in Straub Park, the most prestigious auto show on the west coast of Florida.   We enjoyed the Vintage Motor Classic at the Yacht Club where we saw the most fantastic old cars. 
Always something going on in St Petersburg.  What a great city!

Economic news, especially as it relates to Real Estate is not very positive these days, which is why when I run across an article that at least offers up hope I like to pass it on.  That was the case today when I got an article e-mailed to me stating that the Chief Economist for the National Association of Realtors, Lawrence Yun, is predicting an increase in home sales for 2012.  This breaks the pattern that I have been hearing all too much for the past several months, of a recovery not being in sight.

There were two homes sold in Red Hook during October, one was a farmhouse built in 1860 and the other a home built in 2003.  In October 2010 there were three sales ,and in 2009 seven.
Between the town and village of Red Hook nine homes came on the market in October.  The most expensive home was listed at $1,775,000, a large farm with a farmhouse from 1790.
There are a variety of homes available in Red Hook, both new and old.

Now is the best time in the 35 years that I have been in real estate to buy a house.  Interest rates are at historic lows.  Couple that with low home prices and higher incomes, and you can buy more than the median priced home.

As one of the LLB's (Local Listing Brokers) for Pemco in the 2S region, it is part of my duty to market all HUD homes, not just the listings I receive.  One of the ways we market HUD homes, is with video.
