Bulletproofing Yourself From Disappointment - 10:36 AM
We all suffer through disappointment in life. Shoot, in real estate I think we earn doctorate degrees in the feeling. House doesn't close, client does not act the way we think they should act. We are betrayed or back stabbed by another agent. In life, the car doesn't start for you in the parking lot at the end of the day. The cancer treatment is not working. In our love life, someone forgets us on Valentine's Day or the relationship falls apart and we are heartbroken. Disappointment is like an EMPTY BOX. We open it looking for something, an expectation, and (15 comments)
Who Is Your Best Mentor? - 05:48 PM
My curiosity got the best of me today and I wanted to throw out a question to the masses. I know we are ALL DIFFERENT and learn in different ways and at different paces. So the question is, Who Is Your Best Mentor? We have mentors for business coaching, skills improvement, anything for getting us to the next level. Personally, not that I don't love all teachers in my life from religious to inspirational to business but for me, my best mentor for ME has always been ME. Odd at times I thought about that, but in classes that are (22 comments)
Pay it Forward - Keeping My Daughter Friend Safe - 11:25 PM
Pay it Forward - Keeping My Daughters Friend Safe Last week I took my daughter to the Saturday Skate and Dance. It’s a safe place the kids to be with friends and enjoy themselves. When I picked Emily and her girlfriend up at 11:00, there was another friend whose parents hadn’t gotten there yet. When I picked up my two kids, she would have been left alone in the crowd of kids.My daughter said, oh she’s fine, her parents will be here soon. There was no way on God’s green earth that I was going to leave that child standing there by (8 comments)
What is Designated Agency? Who's wearing YOUR hat? - 08:08 PM
Designated Agency is what most clients think they are getting when they sign a listing agreement for the sale of their house. Clients usually believe that the agent with whom they sign is their representative. Designated agency simply means that other agents in the company do NOT represent the client. The client's representative is the person whose name is on the contract (listing agreement or buyer's agency contract). The listing, however, does not BELONG to the agent. It belongs to the agency. When the listing does NOT have a DESIGNATED agent, all agents in the company become agents of the seller (or the buyer, (6 comments)

Installing Light Fixtures - 10:24 AM
There are no hard-and-fast steps for installing light fixtures. Most new lights have diagrams and instructions which you should read over at least once before you get started. In an add-on situation, you can run a new circuit. Or, you can draw power from an existing circuit. But too many devices can constantly trip a breaker so figure the circuit's load capacity before adding a light. big installation battle is just getting fixtures mounted properly. Normally, an extra cross brace is nailed up during the framing process. If you're retro-fitting, you may have to tear out some wallboard to add extra (1 comments)
Automatic thermostats offer the most intelligent, and cost-effective use of your heating and cooling systems, but many people fail to take full advantage of them. Here's how to use yours to get the most bang for your buck. More Important Than Ever Our energy bills would make our grandparents gasp. Those huge bills aren't simply due to everyday inflation or recent runaway fuel prices, but also because our homes are getting larger. Much larger. Fifty years ago, the average home was a modest 983 ft.² Just since 1970, the size of the average home has increased a whopping 55%, while (3 comments)
One of the ways you can tell spring has arrived, besides the change in outdoor temperature and trees beginning to bud, is by the many roofing company trucks parked along curbs and driveways. This is the window of opportunity before April showers. For some reason, it seems as though many people in my neighborhood have had problems on their roofs recently. Maybe it has to do with most of the homes being built around the same time. Some of these homes have flat roofs, or are comprised of slate or cedar. But, most are asphalt shingle roofs.
