Sprucing up a home to sell it faster and for more money is a strategy frequently advocated by real estate agents. In this case, though, the seller is Wells Fargo Bank, and the home Schramm and Siwicki are buying is a foreclosure.

Reach For The Sky!!! No, there's no robbery going on here Pilgrims!!  (John Wayne reference for the REALLY young ones amongst us)  We're starting to see the fruits of our labors from last fall!  We planted around 1000 crocus and daffodil bulbs last fall, and the crocus are not only up, but popping open some beautiful flowers!

We see the green of the daffodils beside the house, driveway and out in the woods where we placed them, but no blooms yet!  But with the gorgeous spring is almost here weather we're having, it's probably just a matter of days … (36 comments)

How well are condos selling? Are we still in a downward spiral because of all the overbuilding in 2007?
Last spring I wrote:
 The Leavenworth condominium  market seems to be on the road to recovery. There are still some bumps in the road, but we are headed towards a healthy market again.
In 2010, 19 condominiums sold in Leavenworth that were recorded in the North Central WA Multiple Listing Service (MLS).  This  is slightly more than 2009, when 18 condos sold locally.

New mortgage rules to slow down market? - 12:17 PM
New lending rules lowering the maximum mortgage period to 30 years come into effect yesterday, March 18th, and it could slow down spring real estate market. Buyers who purchase a home with a down payment of less than 20 per cent of the value of the home are required cover it with government-backed mortgage insurance through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. After Friday, mortgages amortized over longer than 30 years will no longer qualify for that insurance.
The rules for refinancing have also changed. Homeowners were allowed to borrow up-to 90 per cent of their home's equity but now, it's down to 85 … (1 comments)

One thing we in Southern California enjoy year-round are the flowers. They go through some pretty amazing changes, and beauty private homes, hillsides and fields.
One place in particular in Carlsbad has several amazing displays throughout the year...an area one would not commonly think of as being a place to find such an array of color.

Spring Hill Library Celebrates 5th Anniversary!
The Spring Hill Branch Library in Spring Hill, Florida, celebrated its 5th anniversary today!  It's hard to believe it's been five years since the library moved out of the "little red school house" building at Kenlake into its new facility on Spring Hill Drive. 

Today, the Spring Hill library celebrated this event with special programs for children and adults.  Local organizations including the Friends of the Library, the Kiwanis of the Nature Coast, the Hernando Jazz Society, and local performers came together to participate in and sponsor the events.
