Holy Crap! I Think I Broke Twitter! - 08:37 AM
Holy Crap! I Think I Broke Twitter! This morning, as I do every day, I posted a few local Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area events on Twitter. But this is what came up on the screen when I refreshed to see my posts....
By the way, if you're not using Twitter to promote your business, you're nuts! Check out these numbers I put together in a blog some time back. Bear in mind that I wrote this blog last year and the numbers are even better now. Oh, and if you want to follow me on Twitter, (181 comments)
How can Tax supported Government Agencies like HUD, VA, FHA, Fannie Mae Discriminate Against Real Estate Companies? - 09:46 AM
How can Tax supported Government Agencies like HUD, VA, FHA and Fannie Mae Discriminate Against Real Estate Companies? I have been a real estate agent for over 28 years. In the past the VA and other tax payer supported agencies would list foreclosure property on an OPEN LISTING (Every real estate firm that was registered with the agency could market and sell the property and who ever made the sale received the full commission). But now, these agencies list their Foreclosed properties with only one or possibly 2 selected Real Estate companies. In my area, HUD has listed all their Repos in a 3 (2 comments)
Maine Land Is Always Low Cost, Like The Other Real Estate We List, Peddle, Sell. - 08:31 AM
Maine is 91% wooded, and Aroostook County has 11 people per square mile so you know what that means ... lots of low of low cost ME land, property. Not only is the price low, the quantity of what you get at the Maine property buffet is large. Won't ever let you leave hungry. We get amazement at the Maine real estate low property prices. The reaction is like giving a small child a hundred dollar bill and leading them by the hand in to a candy store. If you could not hope to own over 45 acres of Maine (1 comments)
Zeus, Spy Eye, Vishing, Smishing ... You Are Not Tuned To The Klingon Channel. - 04:44 PM
The malware to remove Zeus and an overall tightening up of your Internet activities on line means keeping up with changes in how information is gotten on line and used against you. The playing field for Internet crime has changed. Not just a pesky simple virus bug bite. But more elaborate schemes raising havoc and severe damage to people's lives. And the criminal element behind it is organized crime. Not just a thirteen year old kid hacking in to a main frame from his bedroom or down in the cellar den. Can you say sophisticated? Sure you can, if you (2 comments)

New Construction in Viera's Premier 55+ Community Heritage Isle - No long wait, either! - 10:21 AM
There is new construction available in Viera's premier 55+ community of Heritage Isle for those not wanting re-sale properties. Heritage Isle is relatively new so the "oldest" properties were just built in 2004! When one thinks of new construction these days they think long waits. That is because the scenery has changed since the days five years ago when builders were selling homes faster than they could build them in Brevard County, Florida! If you are in the market for a 55+ gated community in Florida, then Heritage Isle offers re-sale single family homes as well as new construction! Currently 21 (3 comments)
A simple fix to the short sale fiasco? I'm still waiting. - 11:48 AM
A little over a year ago I posted an interesting question "What if there was a simple fix to the short sale fiasco...what am I missing?" This post has had my highest amount of reader traffic to date at right around 4000 clicks. A year has gone by and I'm sad to say that nothing on my "what if" wish list has come true. Oh...the HAFA Program made a lot of promises that gave me hope, but I haven't seen it working in my area. This is more typically how it goes: Short sales priced it at fair market value. Is it Spring in Maryland yet? - 08:25 AM
It must be Spring, Baseball Season is about to begin! It sure doesn't feel like it in Central Maryland. Despite the chilly temps in the North with a possibility of snow, it will still not hinder the start of the 2011 Major League Baseball season. Thursday March 31st will be opening day in many stadiums across the Country.....and Canada"Time for some peanuts and cracker jacks".The Baltimore Orioles will be playing in sunny Florida this weekend against the Tampa Bay Rays before heading back North. Opening day at Camden Yards is on Monday April 4th against the Detroit Tigers. The game starts at (4 comments)
The Circus is in Baltimore- The Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus - 09:57 PM
The Circus is coming......has come to town. The Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus has arrived in Baltimore and will be performing until April 10th at the 1st Mariner Arena It may have been a miserable rainy night in Baltimore, but the music and the sparkle made everyone forget the weather. Personally I was a little shell-shocked at the prices of the souvenirs, popcorn and snow cones and didn't realize I needed to mortgage my house to attend, but it is only once a year! Every child loves the circus with the spectacular performers and a mere $10 for a (0 comments)
Tech Support Care Packages for Mom and Dad - 10:27 PM
I employed a clients son in my office when he was fourteen years old to help me with my computer needs. At a young age he was far more advanced than I would ever hope to be- The kids of today are leaving us in their dust. Here is a great post by Leah Stern to help the "Challenged" generation! Short sales in Maryland are not for the faint hearted, but with good preparation they can be successful. A key factor is to use an agent that has experience with short sales and understands the complications and how to overcome the inevitable hurdles. If you are looking for a Central Maryland Realtor who understands the process and has short sale sucess, call me. Via Judy Chapman (Koenig & Strey Real Living): 1 Reason Short Sales are Difficult Because the payback of the loan will be ‘shorted’ by a significant amount and the lender will have to take a loss, your lender must approve (18 comments)
Gardening with native plants - 08:08 AM
We went to an evening at Penn State Great Valley Campus in Malvern. It was a talk about using native plants in your garden by Ray Murphy, Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturalist and Master Gardener from Nemours Gardens in Wilmington Delaware. Now I am all for doing that, although I have to admit, not fanatically so, but as much as you can. What I han't realised is that native plants will support much , much more animal life and insects (for the birds and bats) than exotics. Makes sense when you think about it, I had just not really thought about it for (3 comments)

Spring is definitely here in Flagstaff today -- mid-70s, sunny and beautiful. Homeowners are thinking of selling .... I was out previewing homes today. Implemented two price reductions -- another sign that folks want to sell. Look for more new listings soon. Here's what happened today in Northern Arizona real estate:

Building Bridges Takes Longer Than Burning Them - 01:26 AM
Exactly 2 years ago today I received the following e-mail from the owner of a condo unit in MG on the Halifax (then Marina Grande on the Halifax) in Holly Hill, FL: «I may be hurting myself in the future, but stay away from this place. Plenty of lawsuits in progress, and Momentis are as big if not bigger liars than Boca Developers. We are being ripped off on Maintenance fees, they are not delivering services, they can't/won't/don't even heat the pool. They have been promising to settle liens since last August and nothing. None of the security features work and (18 comments)
