How is Your State Doing on Building Permits - 07:17 PM

I read an article a couple of days ago about state's building permit counts. Not a pretty picture whether you are East, West, North or  South. Illinois was 3rd (1 being the worst). The measurement was based on permits issued and weighted by volume of existing dwelling units (Illinois is just under 5.3 million units, New York was #8 with over 8 million units)

Corelogic Marketlinx - When Did This Happen? - 08:22 AM
The Corelogic logo now shows up on my MLS so I googled "Corelogic Marketlinx" and now it is Corelogic Marketlinx!  I am curious if anyone knows when Corelogic merged with Marketlinx or bought Marketlinx?
In case you don't know what I am saying Marketlinx is our MLS provider:

Corelogic is an information outsourcer:

Just a few of Corelogic's basic services include:  AVM, REO, Appraisal, BPO and even for short sale flipping fraud monitoring.  Their clients include lending institutions and the goverment.
Am I the only one that is slightly disturbed by our data being mined and repackaged and sold?

Is a Short Sale ALWAYS a Good Idea?? - 12:49 PM
As a Realtor, I would probably answer yes to that question.  As someone who deeply cares about my clients and their well being, my answer would be that it depends.  We know what foreclosures do to people's credit and the market in general, but what is the difference between a foreclosure and a short sale on someone's credit?  They both make it so that people will have to wait to get into a position to qualify for another mortgage to buy a house, they both hammer your FICO score.
Is your State a Non Recourse State?  That is an important question … (8 comments)

Another Blog on Short Sales... - 05:37 PM
This is a link to our web site and another blog that I have written about short sales.  It seems like even though there has been a lot of media coverage of short sales, there are a lot of questions that have gone unanswered to many people.  Darcy and I are getting asked these or similare short sale questions two or three times a week.  Anyway, here is the link to that post: http://www.livingincedarcity.com/?p=3029
