A Taste of Phoenix - 07:15 AM
A Taste of Phoenix
The harmonious fusion of the American-Mexican flare of the state of Arizona is due to the close proximity of the state to the country. The Mexican cuisine and good eats has been an American favorite for decades. The tortilla, burrito, tacos, the chimichanga, fajita, chili and the margarita are just some of the loved Mexican cuisine imports.
There's an Arizona take on the Mexican dish that has been causing a buzz – the Sonoran-style or Estilo Sonora Hotdog. Over the past decade, hundreds of stores, food stalls and carts serve this American-Mexican flare in Phoenix, AZ.

Kentlands Flowers - Roy and Dolores Kelley Photographs - 03:33 PM
Kentlands Flowers - Roy and Dolores Kelley Photographs
The weather in Maryland was beautiful for Mother's Day.  Dolores and I spent the afternoon at the gardens and then the museum at Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, DC.  The rose garden is especially beautiful and the peonies are in full bloom.  If you have not visited Dumbarton Oaks, you should add that destination to your list of very special places in the District.  The Dumbarton Oaks Museum has a wonderful pre-columbian art collection.
We are seeing new spring flowers in Kentlands, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on a daily basis.  Now is the time to … (17 comments)

Update Your Profile Photograph With A New Spring Picture - 05:16 PM
Update Your Profile Photograph With A New Spring Picture
Most of us use a camera on a regular basis.  However, for personal reasons, we do not update our profile photographs as frequently as we should.
Now, this week, is a good time to select a fresh new photograph and place it on our social medial and internet sites.  Be very careful with the image you select to create the best first impression.
Have a great week, with your camera in hand.

How do I find the best house at the best price? - 09:23 AM
Home buyers have some great advantages today that were not available to them a dozen or so years ago.  With the advent of the internet and almost all active home listings visible to almost all house hunters, the search for the best home at the best advertised price is a snap.  It's possible to spend a few minutes searching for and finding the best deal in town.  Of course it's possible for everyone looking for a new home to do the same thing, and they all do the same thing.
Often these homes, apparent loss leaders, will receive multiple offers and … (4 comments)

West Springfield-What Do You Want In Your New Home? - 08:21 AM
In the 1960's one magazine you were likely to see in the mailbox was McCall's.   And if you were a builder in Springfield Virginia you paid attention to what women wanted in their new home.  In the case of Carr Builders their new West Springfield homes had 38 features that women asked for in a new home.

As this ad from West Springfield points out the new features including a rear staircase from the garage to the kitchen, large dining room and finished recreation room.  The Chatam model also featured 3 fireplaces and all brick construction.  Fast forward to … (7 comments)

Springfield VA-Is the End Near For A Favorite Hardware Store? - 05:02 PM
Growing up in Springfield VA meant many a weekend trip with my mom or dad to Fischers Hardware.  The store first opened by the Fischer Family almost 60 years and it was the place to go to find anything you needed for your home. The store moved a few times over the years and when I was renovating my parents home in the late 90's, Fischers was always my first stop.  The store was small but the staff knew their stuff and would even lend out some tools for the one off jobs like trying to get the drain out of my … (16 comments)

Need Image Hosting Site Recommendation - 07:39 PM
I have been using ImageShack for image uploading and I have noticed that when I want to use an image again, I can only get a small size. If I upload the image again, I can get a larger size. This is quite time consuming. I was banned from PhotoBucket a couple years ago for uploading images to Craigslist, so that is not a possibility. Can anyone recommend somewhere else? I don't need to host very many. I comment on a forum and a photo sometimes helps tremendously. Thanks.

homes under agreement but will show for back-up offers, really? - 07:17 PM
Why is it that agents keep homes active with taking backups offers and then the listing agent doesn't return calls to see the house??? Put the house under-agreement if you don't want to show it anymore.  I've been trying to schedule a few homes recently and then the listing agent will get back to me they are not showing it anymore.
