Newton NC: Take A Kid Fishing Day 2012 - 05:50 PM
 
The 2012 Take-A-Kid Fishing Day is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Herman’s Fish Lake in Newton.
The event is open to all children ages 3–17. Any child age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult to be eligible to participate.
Registration begins Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Newton Recreation Department or at One On Bait & Tackle. Participants may also register by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the event at the lake, which is located off Hwy. 10 at 1954 Grandview Drive in Newton.

The Newton Festival & Events Committee is excited to offer five movies for the 2012 “Movies in the Park” series, which is set to begin June 15, 2012 at Southside Park in Newton.
The movies will begin at dusk (approximately 9:00 p.m.) on Friday nights, June 15, 22, & 29, and July 6 & 13, 2012.
Residents should bring a lawn chair or a blanket for seating. Concessions will be available, along with FREE popcorn. No pets will be allowed. The Newton-Conover High School NJROTC will be assisting the Festival & Events Committee this year with parking and concessions.
