My ActiveRain Will - 08:37 PM
One of the many things that stimulate me to write is my birthday.  Now, while I consider it a fairly overrated holiday, akin to Valentine's Day (shouldn't every day be celebrated the same when it comes to the one you love?), it does provide us that extra Corporate reason to celebrate.  For yours truly, birthdays should be fun and even emotional at times.  A celebration of your birth.
Wikipedia though, doesn't seem to think much of me:
Jason Michael Sardi (born July 17, 1976) is a Human being.  And then something more important happened.
Now, I've roasted myself on my birthday … (0 comments)

Buyers Agent looking for Black Eye & Kick in the Pants - 12:23 PM
I place many ads on CraigsList and I go through them to be sure that my ads are standing out with all the many real estate listings.  Purusing the ads one just happened to catch my eye that at first seemed 'original'.  OK, I'll bite, let's see what you have to say after you've gotten my attention. The ad was from a 'buyers agent' and was talking about how they represent buyers only and do not work with listings.  That's OK, and is done quite frequently.  But then a light bulb (and ding-dong noise) went off in my head - what … (16 comments)

Delaware Shed Demolition And Removal - 05:23 PM
Delaware Shed Demolition And Removal
Delaware Junk Removal removes just about anything from anywhere.  Last week we tore down and removed a large shed from a clients home.  Below are a few photos

This shed was 8' by 10' and 8' high with a solid wall in the middle they kept dogs or some kind of animal in there.

When we demo a shed we make sure to do it correctly and in a safe manner to protect our workers and property.  Notice we removed the chain link fence and some of the wood fence.

After removal, the … (0 comments)

Portofino Condos at Jensen Beach is one of the newest condominium subdivisions in Martin County.  Originally built as an upscale apartment complex around 2000, this development was turned into condominiums and began sales in 2005.  Due to the downturn in the housing market, not all units were sold and some are now being offered for lease.  Portofino Condos at Jensen Beach features 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units with separate garage parking as an added purchase when available.  Unit sizes are 802 sq. ft. for the 1 Bedroom 1 bath, 1074 sq. ft. … (4 comments)

IS THIS A COMPARISON OF ORGANIZATIONS? OR OF A FELLOW HOME INSPECTOR? - 03:38 AM
OBSERVE AND REPORT???  I've OBSERVED and can REPORT that there is nothing superficial about the level of thoroughness of a home inspection performed by the home inspector that inspired this blog post.
Reuben Saltzman is focusing on a very narrow phraseology used in a home inspector's blog post, "Observe and Report".
The use of such a phrase is, in my opinion, sufficient to discredit the home inspector that belongs to the professional organization that is the real target of Mr. Saltzman's critique.
If the phrase had been "ONLY observe and report", or "Observe and Report but do not remove covers, etc.", … (18 comments)

Whatcom County Real Estate Market Report - June, 2012 - 08:40 PM

Looks like Whatcom County real estate had a good month in June the price chart and this number of sales chart have been climbing and are also higher than they were at this time last year.
With the presidential election only four months away I think we'll see some stimulus in the market, no matter who wins. Let's think positive, interest rates are still at all-time low and are expected to remain there for a prolonged period of time. Banks are lending money again, if you have good credit and a steady job you can most likely get a … (0 comments)

Bellingham Real Estate Market Report - June, 2012 - 08:44 PM

June was a good month for Bellingham Real Estate.  The number of sales were up and the price was up from last year and last month. If you take a look at the absorption rate chart you can see there is a balanced market.
There are several factors I think will be driving the market for the next few months. First thing is interest rates are very low and they're expected to stay that way for quite some time. Banks have money and they are lending it. Prices are relatively low and housing inventory is very low, I think … (0 comments)

2012 Midyear Update For Warren County Property Values By Schools - 03:24 AM
2012 Midyear Update For Warren County Property Values By Schools How are the various Warren County school district home values performing?  Are they showing recovery in value?  We've extended our analysis from our Warren County home value April report to include the 2nd quarter of 2012.  All data is obtained from Cincinnati MLS and is for a combination of single family residences and condominiums.  We're comparing 2011 complete year to each quarter of 2012.  We're only covering the districts that are primarily in Warren County, there are others on the edges of the county (e.g. Goshen, Loveland, Blanchester, Clinton Massie) that … (10 comments)

So You Think Active Rain Is Broken..... - 10:32 AM
So You Think Active Rain Is Broken..... Aaaaack!  I got up this morning and suddenly Active Rain didn't behave the way I thought it should!!  What do I do??? Well it's both complicated and simple at the same time.  Maybe it's you and maybe it's the Rain.  It's not like Active Rain never has performance issues, although personally our experience has been almost uninterrupted over the last months.  The Ruby Rails transformation and other behind the curtain tech magic seems to be doing the trick, BUT there is still the occasional glitch. So back to what can you do (assuming the … (106 comments)

Glendale New Builds - Provence - 2 and 3 Bedroom Models - 02:06 PM
Tucked away close to the Westgate City Center is the cozy subdivision of Provence. (I’d say walking distance but, frankly, when it’s 111 degrees out no one is walking anywhere.)
Built by K Hovnanian/Great Western, there are one- and two-story models that both feature stainless steel appliances, granite counters and staggered maple cabinets inside a community with a park for the kids or pets and a pool for the kids or you but not for the pets.
Prices are beginning in the high $100s – there was a recent price increase, which isn’t at all unusual given the current market conditions … (0 comments)

Old Sacramento Underground Tour - Walking Over History - 01:09 PM
I fell in love with the Sacramento Underground Tour thanks to our tour guide Ted!  It's an hour long tour so there is a lot of history and explanation happening the entire time.
The entire experience was extremely educational.  The descriptions of the buildings, fires, floods, and the people were so interesting and made me feel like I was actually there and experiencing it. I felt like I was in a class room again except this time I was extemely intrigued about the topic being discussed :).

I would definitely recommend this tour as it allowed me to notice … (1 comments)

UN-Retirement (Classy Aging -Asheville Style) - 07:54 AM
Asheville Real Estate Journal- The Engage Your Age Series
UN-Retirement - Aging with Class: In our research on the “Perfect Nest” for  the Silent and Boomer Generations we focus on where and how aging people choose to live. Personally, as a REALTOR® I love the idea of creating a home space that can work across many generations…and have written about multi-generational neighborhoods and homes. "Age-in-place” - types of  remodeling and/or repair projects - Universal design- benefits when  incorporated- the Aging in a PALACE© (as opposed to "aging-in-place") concept  makes sense to Baby Boomers.  The LOOK of  "stay put"  homes is Attractive- (photo shows … (2 comments)
