Cedar City Places...China Kitchen... - 02:20 PM
One of the hidden gems in Cedar City for dining is the China Kitchen.  It is hidden because it is located inside of the Texaco Station at 1075 West 200 North.  The food is very good and the portion size is excellent.  It has become one of my and Darcy’s favorite lunch stops.

The pendulum has swung 180 degrees regarding lending matters. If you don’t believe me, try getting a loan, or ask someone who has recently tried to get a loan. It’s a nightmare!
Seven to nine years ago, all you had to do was breathe to get a loan. You qualified for a loan if your heart was still beating, and you could tell them you were earning $100,000 a year, and they believed you: no proof required! And you could buy your “dream home” with barely putting anything down, and the home was yours! Today, the opposite is true.

I showed a property for lease today in a Dallas suburb and in the back yard, we found one of these:
     
Storm cellar? Bomb shelter?
The underground area is about 10' x 10' in size and has shelves along one side, presumably for provisions. There were a couple old folding chairs down there. Oh, and a snake. We didn't venture down there.

This past weekend a buyer for one of our short sale properties wanted to view the home since it had months and months since she's seen it.  The sellers had moved out of state the previous week and the home is empty.  We now take off the lockbox immediately if a home is pending if the seller doesn't live there anymore.  Why? Because there have been numerous break-ins around the city, including one of our listings. The thieves cut the lockbox off and stole the appliances. … (45 comments)

What a fluctuating year so far.  I needed to take a look at how the year was flowing for our area.  So many areas of the Country are seeing major upswings in home sales, some have even turned to a Sellers' market again.  Guess our Absorption Rate has to drop quite a bit before we will see a Sellers' Market again.  As I have stated in previous blog posts, we are normally 2 years behind the "average area of the Country" and some of those … (7 comments)

Joplin MO Market Information 2012 - 07:27 AM
Despite an uptick in sales after the tornado in Joplin last year, the Joplin area is still in the throws of a buyers market. The amount of inventory so far for 2012 has tightened somewhat but overall still represents an abundance of inventory. Whereas 94% of all new listings coming on the market sold in 2004, so far for 2012 only 47% of new listings have sold. Thus far for 2012, 1582 new listings have come on the market with only 744 having sold. This does not account for listings that were already on the market at the end of 2011, … (2 comments)

For 7 years I tried to promote my Real Estate business online through Business Directories...most were large corporations, some were an offshoot of larger corporations, and the rest were pretty much big corporate...hence, no one really understands the small business person's mindset; that being......I don't have a lot of money, but I need to be exposed to the masses online.  The big wigs could smell the blood when Internet advertising was apparently the best way to get noticed.  For the most part online advertising is much cheaper and much more effective than print.  Then.....the fees starting getting a bit ridiculous.
