NEW YEAR'S EVE is tomorrow in case you haven't looked at a calendar lately!  The Pinehurst (Moore County) area has an amazing variety of restaurants to choose from and many of them are offering NEW YEAR'S EVE Specials!  In fact, if I don't have your favorite restaurant listed here, then just give them a call and ask if they are offering a NEW YEAR'S EVE Dinner Special.

Dear Mother Nature,
The snow you showered us with for Christmas was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!  It's been 47 years since you thought about giving Pinehurst a 'White Christmas' and we are honored that you put us back up at the top of the list.  Please don't take this the wrong way, but for future reference, a couple of inches of the fluffy white stuff would've had the same impact on us Southerner's as the 6" inches that you actually gave us.  I'm just saying...

If you don't already have plans for New Year's Eve, consider a weekend at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst. 
$230* per person includes accommodations, five-course gourmet dinner & plated dessert, party featuring The Band of Oz, midnight breakfast buffet, next morning southern-style breakfast, late check-out.
Dinner seating begins at 7 pm. Party begins at 9 pm.

Did I say that it rarely snows here?
Did I say we usually get a little dusting of the white stuff, but not until January or February?
Did I tell you that the golf is great in the winter months?
Did I suggest that you donate all your winter boots/clothes to goodwill?
Did I laugh when I saw your snow shovel in the moving truck?
Did I tell you that you would no longer need that 4x4 SUV?

Christmas Gift Suggestions to Live By!! - 12/22/10 09:27 AM
I'm not really into the gift buying 'part' of the commercialized Christmas.  If there are children in my life, then I will buy them gifts.  But, if you're an adult in my life, chances are you will be invited to my house for dinner or I will be giving you homemade treats with a card that explains what you mean to me.  If you have a dog, then your dog(s) will be receiving homemade doggie biscuits from me, Basil & Bree-Bree!

Wow, this contest is a really tough one!  Sooooo many pictures, soooooo many 'Kodak Moments'...how do I pick just one?!?!  I spent many hours looking through old photos that I have in albums, shoeboxes, bags, dresser drawers and on my laptop.  After I'd quickly flipped through about 100 photos, I realized that I was missing out on what I was looking at.  This was my LIFE that I was flipping through soooo quickly!  So, I put everything aside...poured myself a glass of wine...got cozy with a blanket in my favorite chair and SLOWED … (6 comments)

FUNNY FRIDAY | Where Did He Go??? - 12/03/10 02:42 PM

 
I rarely let my dog off the leash, but there is a trail up in the mountains of NC where we go on the weekends that isn't well known...so, we let Basil enjoy a bit of freedom this past weekend.  During the fall months, I panic when I can't see him AND believe me I can lose sight of him very quickly with all the leaves on the ground.  He blends in and disappears!!!  Happy Friday Everyone!

This weekend is overflowing with events and activities for the entire family!!!  It will be difficult for some to choose one over the other, but I'm sure you'll have FUN no matter what.  I usually try to comment on most of the activities that I post, but since there are sooooo many this weekend, I'm just going to put an asterisk (*) in front of my 'Personal Favorites'.
