Early 2011 Outlook on Frisco TX Homes Sales Market - 01/31/11 09:24 AM
Commentary of Frisco TX homes for sale market:
It is time for an early Frisco TX homes market summary review. I attended several meetings about market forecast about the real estate market in 2011. Here's what I found out: Some are either too optimistic while others are a damper to the local Frisco TX homes market. These will always be opinions of what people think and as you read this article, the Frisco TX homes early 2011 commentary will also be a matter of MY opinion. It is also based on my interactions with actual Frisco TX home buyers and sellers … (7 comments)

The Case of Unwavering Faith - Who's in Control? - 01/30/11 09:27 AM
Anyone who knows me here on Active Rain knows that I'm big in my faith. But recently I went through a transaction that I'm in AWE the whole way through. Talk about a renewed faith and that GOD CAN DO ANYTHING. Please let me share with you about a little story about just that.
So, I met a new client who called me back in October about how she's dissatisfied with her current agent not honing in on the properties she want to look for. She's a Dave Ramsey certified financial counselor (and I'm ministry-certified). Her words were clear, "I WANT … (19 comments)

Frisco TX celebrated its NCAA Football Championship Game Festivities - 01/28/11 04:38 PM
Back in the 1st week of January 2011, Frisco TX hosted its first NCAA Division I Football Championship Game. The NCAA Division I Football is not to be confused with the NCAA BCS Football as we are familiar with.
This year, the NCAA Division I Football Championship 2011 is a showdown between the Delaware Hens and Eastern Washington Eagles. The Eastern Washington Eagles came back down by 19 points by late 3rd Quarter to win the Championship Game 20-19.
The City of Frisco is honored to be chosen as the host city for the NCAA Division I Football game championship venue … (6 comments)

3 Little Secrets uncovered during Listing Appointments - 01/26/11 07:20 AM
I'm privileged to go through my busiest January ever. Back to back appointments on a regular basis as well as 5 listing appointments just in the 1st 2 weeks of January. There are some serious sellers in Frisco TX these days!
Some of the little secrets I uncovered during my listing appointments with sellers are:
"My last agent asked me how much I want to sell my house for?"I told him the price, he listed it for that and that was it. We never sold our house. "My agent never gave me a list to prepare the home for sale"If you … (80 comments)

Free Speech? What You Dont Know Others Know About You May Hurt You... - 01/25/11 07:34 PM
One of the best freedom the US of A offers its people is its freedom of speech. It's a right that American gets to exercise. Not so much if you were citizens from other countries.
Although it's a right, I view it as a privilege - yet not every privilege should be exercised. Where am I going with this?
Social Media.... I facebook much more than I twitter so I can speak from my Facebook experience. Some of the status updates or feedback to other people's updates should be left quiet.
What you dont know others may know about you could … (17 comments)

Finding Stillness - 01/23/11 10:53 PM
Dear Lord,
In our modern society, our lives seems to be constantly "on the go". Whether it's the children, our careers or our own inabilities to say "No" to yet another favor, I hope you will help us find STILLNESS in your strength.
Give us our daily strength that can only come from you.
Give us our daily sanity that only you can comprehend.
Bless everyone who lead a crazy, busy schedule and lead us to finding stillness that only You can provide.
In the name of your precious Son, Jesus. Amen.

I'm Tagged but I Got Nothing To Share - 01/22/11 06:38 AM
I've been tagged TWICE by now (Paula Hamilton and Rita Fong) but I'm not sure what else to share since I've been fairly open in my posts. I think all of you know me inside out by now.
There's one thing I haven't shared here on AR but again, it's not something you didn't know.
I joined AR back in November/ December 2006. Somehow, I knew deep inside that this place will be a connection for me. It will be a place I could pour myself into, and get back just as much. 4+ years later, I'm still around with 1,588 … (23 comments)

FSBO: Getting an Offer is only HALF the Battle Won - 01/20/11 07:23 PM
As I tell my seller clients (non-For Sale By Owners), even if we receive an offer on the house, it's only a battle HALF WON. Some many times, sellers get super-excited about the offer and start planning their next move. Deservingly so. But those who do enough real estate transactions understand that Getting the offer is only HALF the Battle WON.
So now, you have an offer. What does this mean?

All Men Created Equal - 01/17/11 06:56 AM
Martin Luther King Jr. wished that "someday all men would be created equal" in his famous "I have a dream" speech.
Being an American for one year now, this "theme" resonates highly to me.
But the story goes, that long before I became an American, 95% of people around me gave me EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES. Only in America. The 5%? There will always be the 5% so why let the trees obstruct your view of the forest?
I came to America as a young college student, seeking for tertiary education that my very own country couldn't give me because of my minority … (53 comments)

How To Choose a Real Estate Listing Agent - 01/17/11 05:56 AM
So many times we hear justifications and reasons from REAL ESTATE AGENTS what's the benefits of going with a larger, national brand real estate brokerage versus a smaller, independent, locally owned firm.
Re-blogging this article, written by former real estate agent, Marte who is now a full-time writer, it's great to read her insights from her past experience. Hopefully, this is a less-biased, yet truthful article that could reach consumers.

Good Day Glory, What's Your Story today? - 01/16/11 10:35 AM
You have a STORY. Everyone does. You were created for the glory of God.
Your creation has a purpose.
When you step outside yourself and begin to live the story you were created for, you become the STORY you were created for.
We run a business. There's always a business and mission side to your business. Through every business transaction (including those that didn't end up with a closed transaction), there is a chapter of YOUR STORY.
On the other side, your client has his/her STORY too. How will both your STORIES jive today, tomorrow and a long time from today? … (9 comments)

Finding Courage to Face my Giant - 01/10/11 08:02 AM
This year, I set up a New Year commitment to face my giant - to pick up that damn phone!!! I've always resort to emailing or texting rather than calling. As a result, I did not reach as many people as I should in the past.
Last year, I faced and tackled my giant - to accept & overcome my voice that doesn't sound American when I speak, as a result, I made 93 Youtube videos in 2010.
Yesterday was a beautiful snow day in Frisco TX. We had 5 inches and that's considered ALOT for Frisco standards...
In the snow, … (24 comments)

This Time I Have GOD - Ted Williams - 01/09/11 09:24 AM
Ted Williams became an overnight celebrity due to Youtube's viral abilities to turn rags to riches. I'm sure you've heard about Ted Williams by now - the homeless man, panhandling at a street corner in Columbus OH with a golden voice.
Sometime in 1993, Ted's life spiraled downwards when he lost his home due to drugs and alcohol problems. To fund his habits, he turned to robbery, theft and fraud. Not until just a few days ago, Ted was still living in a tent, asking for money at a random street corner.
Since then, he's been offered several lucrative positions because … (18 comments)

Keep Pressing Forward in 2011 - 01/08/11 09:07 AM
Phew.... We survived the 1st official work week of 2011. Most of us had a great and productive week. If it continue to stay in this positive momentum, we will eventually own 2011. So what if you begin to lose your 2011 steam? Here's a story to share:
I left Corporate America with a heavy heart that I left my "friends" at work, many of which I've grown to love over 8 years. It was my first REAL job out of college. It was a great learning experience during my tenure there. I worked with a few key people that later … (18 comments)

Facebook Friends - How "Friend" of a Friend Are You? - 01/07/11 11:36 AM
With the viral ability of Facebook, Twitter and Youtube today, our world has changed in the way we communicate. I'm sure by now you've also heard of the story where a lady in the UK posted on her Facebook status that she just ODed herself and said Goodbye to her friends.
She has 1,039 Facebook friends. None checked in on her to see if she was okay. Some even joked about it.
That leaves me to thinking, How Friends are her Facebook friends? How Friends are MY Facebook friends? If it's not REAL FRIENDS, then why do people actually spend so … (15 comments)

I Can Put On My Own Big Girl Panties On.... Thank You Very Much - 01/05/11 09:42 PM
I hope this post does not come across as a rant because of its title and it certainly is not. I hope this post come across as an education to real estate consumers/ clients who deal with real estate professionals during their home buying or home selling process.
Here's what gets me each and every time. Everything is going great, then something in the middle happen and the clients stop returning phone calls or emails. This certainly raises red flags but the clients don't want to admit that they have decided to end the business relationship.
Instead resort to using other … (37 comments)
