Prices in our market have come down quite a bit over the last 18 months with prices where they were in early 2005, but getting everyone on the same page is still very difficult.
In order to get any showings on listings, homes have to be priced at rock bottom and getting sellers to agree to that is a major challenge in itself. Even with very good pricing it seems the buyers want to come in with low-ball offers, and then the sellers feeling they have priced too low are unwilling to negotiate. This never ending cycle seems to keep the homes from selling.

This blog is to update past thoughts. First let me say that the home staging experience went great! We took a home that had been off and on the market for over a year with no offers, spent less than $2,000 on staging, and ratified a full price offer 4 days after completion! Thank you to Leslye and Tammy of Creative Room Makeovers for such an outstanding job! I plan on staging lots of homes in the future!

Was it worth the cost? You tell me - 04/11/07 08:10 PM

A few weeks ago I wrote a blog about home staging and how I was going to have a home staged to see if it was worth the expense. I promised to put before and after pictures here on the rain when the staging was completed. I am happy to say the job is now done and here are the results. Was it worth the roughly $1800 to have it done? Tell me what you think.
