Most people these day's are DIY people in order to save money, and who can blame them. When faced with a clogged sink, most people don't realize that sinks can not be snaked from above. The Sink opening is made to prevent objects from getting into the pipes, thus making it all to difficult to snake through. To snake through you will need to disconnect the P-trap from under the sink.
