Is there Hope For Lending and Appraisal Issues??? - 07/28/09 07:41 AM
Just found this update on the HVCC - Home Valuation Code of Conduct - which has been vexing us since its start earlier this spring. NAR and members of Congress have been working hard to fix this so as to assist rather than hinder the recovery of the housing market and therefore the overall economy. Legislation has been introduced to impose an 18 month moratorium on the HVCC. In the meantime, progess is clearly being made. Per your ATLANTA BOARD OF REALTORS: Are you one of the many REALTORS concerned about the problems created by new appraisal rules in the Home (0 comments)

The Impact of Interest Rates Some potential homebuyers are sitting on the sidelines waiting for housing prices to hit bottom. It makes sense to buy a house at the lowest price possible but there are other critical considerations to keep in mind. Trying to time the bottom of any market is always difficult. Also, interest rates are at historic lows, and many homebuyers fail to consider the savings that come with low interest rates, particularly over the life of the loan, or even the partial life of the loan. Mortgage rates are low because of the recession and foreclosures. (0 comments)
