Sometimes All It Takes Are "Action Steps" - 10/31/08 11:18 AM

Two heads are better than one, there's strength in numbers, there's more than one answer to every question and no one knows all the answers! Common sentiments....you need to remember!
The past few months I had been working with a really enjoyable young couple looking for their first home. They knew exactly how much they wanted to spend. They had pre-qualified with a Credit Union (because of the volatility of the Banks these days) and they were flexible about their wants.
Two no, no's.....short sales and foreclosures. They had a time frame they wanted to work within.
After a few … (19 comments)

Diary Of A Seller~An Inside Perspective - 10/25/08 11:56 PM
PART I - THE DECISION

I have debated a while about writing this. Then I decided that there was value in the perspective. Value to we Realtors and Sellers alike!
We work with Sellers on a regular basis. We council them, persuade them, convince them, support them and give constant re-assurance. But how many of us are in touch with what they feel? How many understand what it feels like to sell your home, your memories, your young adult aspirations?
As of the middle of last July, my husband and I have listed our home For Sale. We moved to … (26 comments)

Xtra chZ~A "Slice" Above, Concord NH - 10/23/08 04:33 PM

There's a new place in town. Xtra chZ opened the first week in August at the corner of Rt.106 and Pembroke Road.
Now.....we have a lot of Pizza establishments in town so I asked the owner/operator, Nick Makris, what about his place makes him competitive? Nick didn't even hesitate in his answer "we cater to the whole family, not just the guys on lunch break" He has also told his help that no one is to leave "unhappy"....there's no skimping!
They have more than 28 Specialty Pizzas. They also have an extensive menu of Specialty Salads! This is more than your standard … (18 comments)

The Millbrook Gallery (and Sculpture Garden)~Concord, NH - 10/16/08 08:24 PM
I often refer to the Millbrook Gallery as Concord's best kept secret.
It is a delightful place with ever changing exhibits (indoors and out). They feature local artists, host exhibits, partake in community events and offer a delightful escape for a Sunday afternoon!
This past weekend we went so that we could see some of the new outdoor exhibits....before Winter comes!

WOOLLY MAMMOUTH-Bob Shannahan
This is the guy I really wanted to see! He is life size and very impressive! He is made of cranberry, cattail, white clover, alder and sedge grass. His "toenails" are stones

New Hampshire's Most Glorious Season !! - 10/13/08 01:02 AM

                                                            ******************
Autumn, Fall, Foliage Season.....whatever you wish to call it....Mother Nature cloaks herself in glorious color trimmed with deep blue skies and saturated with the smell of crisp fallen leaves! It is her way of softening the Winter chill to come.
This year has been especially glorious! the colors are brilliant and the leaves seem to be staying on the trees longer so we can see the full effect!
Today we took our annual Fall drive. Usually we go to the notches or an area we have not yet traveled, but this year we stayed close to home … (62 comments)

October~Parent Involvement Month In New Hampshire - 10/10/08 05:05 PM

The governor of NH, Governor John Lynch has proclaimed October as "Parent Involvement In Education Month".
This is as a result of a collaboration between NH State PIRC (Parent Information and Resource Center), The Parent Information Center (PIC) and the Department of Education.

The Parent Information Center has been promoting Parent Involvement in Education for over 30 years. They feel that every child can do better when a Parent takes an active role in his/her education. Studies have shown that students with above average … (10 comments)

Art Concord~Fall For Art - 10/08/08 01:20 PM

There are those of you who may think I have a personal relationship or stock shares in the Mill Brook Gallery......I can assure you that is not the case! I just happen to really like the place.
We took a trip out there this past weekend (I will share the pictures in a later Blog) and I picked up some information on an "Event" next Saturday (October 11th ) being sponsored by the Concord Chamber of Commerce ( 224-2508). It is a "round robin" type of event great for the whole family and art lovers of all … (8 comments)
