New Texas Sellers Disclosure - 08/23/07 02:25 PM
The Texas Legislature has imposed new fire-safety requirements on all residentail real property.  The new sellers disclosure requires that the sellers disclose information about fire safety on the property.  It also effects Landlords.  This new law will take effect September 1, 2007.
 Items that will need to be disclosed include smoke detectors, hearing-impaired smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and emergency escape ladders.  The House bill also requires new fire safety requirements for sellers of one and two family dwellings.  Under House Bill 2118 the seller can be required to install smoke detectors equipped for hearing impaired persons prior to closing date.  The buyer … (3 comments)
