Last week we had a couple of nights below freezing temperature here in the Texas Hill Country. And there was some scrambling around the house to get the pipes ready for the weather as well as some of our vacant listings.
Taking the advice of a plumber here are things that we all need to do for those occasional freezes.
Guess what his first statement was: "Preparation is the key!"

Well the heater is out in our office since yesterday and yes I live in South Texas and yes it was still in the 60's, but it was COLD!!!! And it is still COLD today. (FYI, part for heater has been ordered and should be fixed by tomorrow, but that's probably a different blog :)

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are expected to increase their fees starting in 2012, which could impact homebuyers.
Here's what I have found out so far:
Will fees increase?
Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac more than likely will be charging higher fees to the lenders for riskier loans or they may vary the fees based on where the home is being purchased (taking in to account the foreclosure rate in that area). This cost of course will be passed on to the buyer.
Why is this happening?
