Official July rainfall in Albuquerque so far 1.03 Inches (Average is 0.59) but I doubt we’ve had this much at our home. Albuquerque is spread out so it could be raining in one area of the Duke City and sunny and dry in the another.
We will take every drop we can get and be thankful for it. At least the Rio Grande which has been dry is once again flowing. Without doubt we are welcoming the Monsoon season! … (42 comments)

I took this photo just NW of Albuquerque and for me provides a great example of the simple beauty that surrounds us. This outcrop of rock is seen by thousands of people each day and yet I wonder how many really look at it as they drive by and reflect on the history and the thousands if not millions of years it has been slowly erroding away with the elements presented it. The Tapestry of Earth, Wind and Rain! Yes, its just a rock but in my eyes its a piece of art just waiting to be shared!

2011 Albuquerque Drought 2nd Dryest Since 1890 2011 has brought Albuquerque NM the second driest year to date. This according to the weather records that have been kept since 1890. Albuquerque average yearly rainfall averages 8 to 9 inches but as of October 24th 2011 Albuquerque has only received 3.50 inches. Albuquerque’s drought is expected to continue through the winter months and bring a warmer winter also.
