My Job is so Fun! - 09/24/08 06:38 PM
I have had the pleasure to inspect many properties.....from 5000+ sqft. mansions to 900 sq ft homes. Today was fun because it was one of those jobs that is just challenging. This duplex would be a great model for a home inspection school to buy as a model for their students to practice on. Every single system and component in this duplex required comment. This home had originally been plumbed with polybutylene tubing. As many of you know this tubing has been found as defective and requires replacement.....well, the owners must have taken the money from the class action lawsuit

Recent inspection brought up stair safety issues. - 09/17/08 04:44 PM
I recently inspected a two story home that was approximately 23 years old. This home was a duplex in a neighborhood of duplexes which was my first clue. These homes were put together in haste and the craftsmanship proved it. There were many items of concern in this home but the stairs were the most concerning to me since there were to be children moving into the home. A young child (or elderly person) would have difficulty with the stairs as they were not of the same height, very slick and the handrail was loose. Take a look at this stairs

How agents can limit their liability with regard to home inspections. - 09/07/08 12:21 PM
by Joe Ferry, Esquire and Nick Gromicko, InterNACHI Founder In a world where litigation is the preferred method of resolving even the most minor conflicts, it should come as no surprise to real estate agents that they are increasingly finding themselves named as defendants in law suits wherein purchasers of residential real estate are claiming damages as the result of the alleged fraud and/or negligence of one or more of the participants in the transaction. Aggrieved purchasers of residential real estate are operating in a target-rich environment and have a remarkable array of potentially responsible parties from which

Mold Inspection Service for Georgia - 09/05/08 05:45 PM
Mold spores are found everywhere in our environment and we are constantly exposed to them. High concentrations of any mold in living or work environments must be considered unacceptable because of possible health problems or structural damage. If mold is present, it is important to answer the questions: "What kind?" and "How much?" The purpose of sampling is to collect samples for lab analysis to answer these two questions. Mold may be identified under a microscope by trained technicians. The analysts identify spores and structures of the molds from collected samples, to find out the kind of mold. Air samples

Best Pool Inspection Service in Georgia! - 09/05/08 03:08 PM
A special emphasis is placed on identifying safety risks associated with pools and spas. Pool and Spa inspection consists of four phases that are covered: inspection of the pool/spa placement and protection fencing, inspection of the pool/spa shell (the vessel) and coping, inspection of the equipment, including gas and electrical connections, and function test of equipment. Here is an abbreviated list of some of the things I look at while inspecting you pool and/or spa. Barrier requirements for fencing, gates, doors and windows. Quick Checklist for Those Getting a Home Inspection - 09/01/08 10:32 PM
Just wanted to share a few things that will speed the home inspection along for you. Ensure all utilities are on, Clear an area in front of the electrical service panel. Must be a minimum of 36" wide and 36" deep. This means no washers or dryers left in front of panel. Pets are kept away from inspector. I love animals but like the post-man, pets can turn on strangers in a heart beat so please just keep them in a secure place. Ensure everyone in home is aware that an inspection is going on and the inspector will be going

When in Central Georgia Visit the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA! - 09/01/08 09:53 PM
I have had a love of all things with wings as long as I can remember; born on an Air Force base, grew up within a couple miles of that same Air Force base, built dozens and dozens of model airplanes while growing up, attended dozens of air shows and visited aviation museums such as the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio, the National Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C. and the Duxford Museum in the U.K. plus many more smaller museums. The Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA is located right next to Robins AFB and is a

Gustav is no Katrina.....Thank God! - 09/01/08 03:34 PM
I've been glued to the TV set all last night and in-between jobs today and it looks like the worst has passed as far as hurricane Gustav goes. I'm sure there will be some flooding and other damages as it blows inland but the people of New Orleans and surrounding areas have been spared the devastation that was experienced during Katrina. Thank God! Howard Tennyson, Home InspectorAce Home Inspection, LLCBBB Accredited BusinessOffice Phone: (478) 954-9791acehomeinspectionllc@gmail.comwww.acehomeinspection.biz
