The Place to Be Friday Nights in Georgetown, TX - Dos Salsa's Tex Mex Restaurant
Two weeks ago tomorrow I was out with the kids (my wife had to work late) when our son mentioned that he would like to have his favorite quesadillas for dinner.  After a little bit of interrogation on my part I learned that his favorite quesadillas came from a small, but well known, restaurant in Georgetown, Tx called Dos Salsa's.
So, I had the pleasure of dining with our 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter that evening.  And....the food was great.  But, the real … (0 comments)

Williamson County, Texas Blood Drives - September 2010
Every Month I get a handy reminder in the mail about local blood drives.  I give as often as I can.  After all, there is no artificial substitute for human blood. I thought it would be a good idea to list them here.  If you can make one your donation would be greatly appreciated.

Baseball Season is Under Way - A New Class of Slugger's Joins the Game in Georgetown, Texas
The baseball season is now in full swing.  This year is especially important for us because our son is playing baseball for the first time.  Well T-Ball but conceptually the same thing!
Here he is!

As you can see he, he has signed a one season deal with the 4 and Up T-Ball Red Sox.
Last night the GYBA players were allowed to take the field with the Georgetown Eagle ballplayers for the national anthem.

Wine Barrel Furniture in Georgetown, Texas from the Fine Folks at Cedarstone Ranch

As many of you know, I'm in the home inspection game.  One of the perks of my job is getting to meet and in many cases, befriend many of my clients.
Today I was blessed with another opportunity to inspect a beautiful home in Georgetown, Texas.  It just so happened that today my client's children and our children attend the same school, Community Montessori School.  So, I knew (of) H.L. and Mindy Fahnestock but never really got to know them. Had I known more about them I … (5 comments)

Spring Brings Lots of New Homes to Pleasant Valley in Georgetown, Texas
Pleasant Valley is located on the southern edge of Georgetown, Texas.  It is situated along FM1460 just north of Inner Loop Road and the Rabbit Hollow Subdivision.  For many years this area sat as unused farmland.  But, a few years ago a developer and his partners purchased the property and tied it into the original phase of the Pleasant Valley neighborhood.  Their goal....great new homes on spacious lots!
About the time that the developer was placing the utilities and other infrastructure necessary for new home construction my wife and I … (1 comments)

georgetown: Georgetown Texas - Recent Poll - 02/26/10 11:08 PM
Earlier today I was reading the Community Impact newspaper and came across an interesting poll.
The question was - "Do you feel safe in your city?"
A whopping 96% of Georgetown, Texas respondents answered "Yes" in the poll.  Only 6% said "No" and no one chose the "No Opinion" option.
We moved from Austin to Georgetown 3 years ago.  We couldn't be happier with the choice we made!  I would think that a community that feels 96% safe ranks very high comparatively.  That's also got to be a great selling point for realtors and their clients looking to move to Georgetown … (9 comments)

georgetown: The Georgetown VFW Post 8587 - 02/26/10 03:26 PM
I had the pleasure of grabbing lunch this week at the Georgetown VFW hall.  Every Wednesday they serve a burger with fixins, fries and tea for only $5.50.  It was, to say the least, good grub.

I've driven past the Georgetown VFW hall at least a hundred times.  Everytime I drove by I would see their sign reminding me of their Wednesady ritual and say to myself, "I need to drop by".  Well I finally did drop by and I plan to add this to my weekly ritual when my schedule will allow it.
The VFW's motto is "honoring the … (3 comments)

georgetown: The Lost and Lonely SnowPeople of Central Texas - 02/24/10 02:33 PM
Yesterday it snowed in the Austin area - a lot.  At least for Central Texas it was a lot.  To celebrate everyone I know went outside and made a snowman.  For many of the children this was their first chance to see snow and also their first chance to make a snowman.
Today the snowpeople of Central Texas looked lost and forlorn.  Slushy blobs of their former selves.
Tomorrow they will be gone until the next "big storm" which for us might be years away.  Please enjoy a few of the pictures I took today as I returned from my inspection.
