The key in listing anytime of year is to prepare the house before placing it on the market and make sure that it shows in it's … (5 comments)

home staging: HOME STAGING: Successful Results Don't Have To Cost An Arm & A Leg - 01/12/10 08:44 PM
When selling a home, successful result's don't have to cost you an arm and a leg!

Preparing to put a home on the market can sometimes be an overwhelming experience for home owners.
With the recent surge of home improvement and home staging shows on HGTV, homeowners are feeling the need to repair and remodel their homes before putting them on the market.  While home improvements can always enhance a homes desirability...it's not always within a sellers budget to remodel a dated bathroom or kitchen.
Before putting a home on the market, it is worth the investment … (21 comments)

home staging: Staging The Neighbors Into Buying! - 12/23/09 07:38 PM
The holidays are usually not the time of year that people consider putting their house on the market, but buyers are looking all year round even during the holiday season.
Empire Home Staging Solutions, staged this property at 129 W. Winnie Way Arcadia, CA on December 01, 2009 and we knew the staging was going to play an important part in the sale of the property, but we had no idea we would tempt the neighbors right into buying the home!  That's right...the buyers who just so happen to live in the same neighborhood came by the … (20 comments)

home staging: WAS IT PARTNERS IN CRIME? - 08/17/09 09:20 AM
Often times as home stagers we find some real interesting things behind, over and under the furniture we move around.
At a recent home staging in Azusa, CA, this particular find had me laughing out loud. As I was moving furniture around in the living room, I found a pile of small pieces of paper behind a leather chair.  At first I didn't think anything of it, but as I got closer to the ground, I realized that it was a pile of gum wrappers, I just had to laugh!

home staging: The Collection of CLUTTER...How NOT To Sell A Home! - 02/21/09 07:19 PM

A CLUTTERED and DISORGANIZED home pretty much sums up...
How NOT To Sell a home!
Americans...we just love collecting stuff.  We can't seem to help ourselves when it comes time to buying things that we really don't need.  We are bombarded with infomercials and the advertising of products that promise to make us feel better somehow and we feel compelled to purchase them.
People tend to get real excited when their new item arrives in the mail, but slowly with time, the honeymoon is over.  Our new exciting items that we so desperately needed, get tucked away in a corner or a … (25 comments)

home staging: I LOVE MY PROFESSION BECAUSE... a challenge from my dear, sweet, intellegent, kind, & did I mention beautiful?... AR friend - 10/18/08 12:02 PM
Normally on any given day, in my profession of home staging, I am faced with several types of challenges...what to do with the homeowners lime green walls or how to convince clients that putting linoleum on their kitchen counter tops just really is not a good idea! These types of things!
When my friend Kat De Long challenged me to write a post about why I love my profession, I had to sit back and think for a minute week...and really understand what it was, about my profession, that makes me enjoy it so much!  Well, here goes Kat...hope you like my post!

It's time to hop back on the time machine and travel back in time to the past! Where the machine will stop, we never know.  O.K.,so I know, because I.m writing this post!
2008...1990...1980...1970...Let's see what life was like for professional home stagers in the 1970's!
What would home staging be like for us in the year 1970?
This year wasn't so long ago for some of us...just 38 years ago!  Things certainly have changed in such a short time though.  Home staging in the 70's would have been just...groovy!  The age of disco, platform shoes, bell bottoms and The Brady Bunch!
