ActiveRain is Turning 5 and we want to CELEBRATE! We've always been in the mindset of work hard and play harder.
We are planning to have a big birthday bash this June to celebrate the 5th birthday of AR and want to make it as awesome as possible. There are a few ideas up our sleeves but with a community as impressive as this one, we wanted to see if you had any as well.

How many times have you tried to link your ActiveRain post on Twitter or another site only to get the response that the url is too long? Well Happy Holidays, ActiveRain has a gift for you.
Once you have written and posted a blog post you now have the option of generating a shorter url.
Simply go back into your post and click Generate short URL. Take a look at the screen shot below:

Hello ActiveRain! We wanted to let you know about a few updates we are working on. I apologize first and foremost for the poor performance issues you have been experiencing lately. We are not about to enter that nightmare we experienced last spring and the reason we won't is because our developers are on top of it.

We are launching this immediately as a Preview. We welcome your feedback and concerns so that the transformation is silky smooth.

We're drinking triple ventis at the office this morning. We want you all to know our expectation of the Listing Tool is on the forefront of our minds and hearts. This tool is one to help you, the community, and we will not rest until it is up to speed. Red Bulls for lunch!
We rolled out the Listings Tool and were feverishly awaiting the feedback. We made some updates and while still keeping our eyes and ears peeled.
THIS JUST IN: Geolocation of addresses has been markedly improved, and we've added the ability to quickly and easily report non-working addresses.

ActiveRain has done it again! We've added yet another feature to enhance the AR Community. Members now have the option of posting Listings!
Here's how:1. Go to http://activerain.com/action/listings and click New Listing2. Upload photos, enter the address, description and stats3. Click Save Listing4. Click Activate

We'd like to introduce the new contact form. Our hope for the new design is to dramatically reduce the "contact spam" you lovely members have had to deal with. I'm sure you will all miss the emails from Candy asking you to love her and Bill asking for $15,000 to help get him into the country. I shake my fist in the air at these spammers. When on a member's profile, click "Contact xxxx" next to E-mail.
