Have you ever heard of Zillow? Did you know that your home can be found on Zillow - even if it's not yet listed for sale. Zillow has what is known as a "Zestimate" an estimate of your home's value for just about every home on the site. As an owner of that home, you can go into Zillow and update your home's information - which as you can imagine, isn't always accurate. You can correct square footage, add updates, add information about any expansions and renovations that you have done - anything that would add value to your home can be added to Zillow. And if you are thinking about selling your home - even if it's months away, you should consider doing this now. If you have just listed your home, then your agent should go in and do this for you. While Zillow uses closed home sales as a guide for all it's home pricing, we all know that a homes value is also determined by the updates that have been added. And updates mean everything to today's buyer. Unfortunately, unlike your tax assesor, Zillow does not know you made any updates unless you let them know. So while a real estate agents pricing is the most accurate when you are ready to list your home, many buyers look at Zillow to see what their opinion is of your home's value. For this reason it makes sense to have that Zestimate as up to date as possible. Nine out of ten agents do not know this capability exists but having been a Premier agent with Zillow for many years, I understand the value this site has to buyers and in the end, it's buyer's that we are looking for! I hope this information has been of value to you. If you are considering selling your home in the near future, do visit my website AdrienneFrancis.com and check out the "Sellers" area for lots more information on preparing your home to sell it quickly and for the most money possible.
