Back in 2000, I was approached by my company to move to Lexington KY.  While I have been here before on a couple business trips, I knew very little about this town.  I have to admit that moving from a city like Chicago made me fear that I was going to miss out on all the great entertainment a big city has to offer.  Four years later, however, when my company asked me to move back...I just couldn't imagine leaving this town.

Since then, I have left my corporate job, got my real estate license (among several other designations) and decided I wanted to help people make this THEIR home, too!

I won't lie; there are things Chicago can offer that Lexington can not.  However, there are also many many things Lexington can offer than Chicago can't.  Since I was still young & single when I moved here, I made a concerted effort to explore all there is to this town.  After all, I missed things like the museums, night clubs, and social organizations Chicago had plenty of.

It suprised me to find how many avenues a young professional has in Lexington to network, from the Downtown Entertainment Task Force to the Lexington Young Professionals Association (both of which I am or have been a part of).  Of course, Lexington is also known for all sorts of family friendly hot spots.  Now that I am a mother, I can tell you I STILL love this town!  It's so kid friendly!  In fact, Lexington has one of the oldest children's theatre's in the US and one of the the biggest children's orchestras.  And have I mentioned sports?!  Lexington has an INCREDIBLE sports spirit when it comes to UK!  Especially UK basketball and UK football (though we do have other teams, including minor league baseball).

One of the reasons I couldn't imagine leaving this area was due to it's outdoor life.  Everything from scenic drives through the gorgeous horse farms to the great hiking, camping, white water rafting, and caving within minutes of the metropolitan area.

Of course, our housing is among the best deals in the US right now!  And our property taxes are roughly 1% of the assessed value.

I could barely scratch the surface when it comes to describing what Lexington has to offer.  Despite the fact that I am not a native, I feel so passionate about this town that I became a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) earlier this year.  If you're thinking of moving to this area, check out my website and request a FREE relocation package.  It's one of a kind and a great introduction to the area.  Additionally, I'm always available to talk about Lexington in detail so don't hesitate to call me!
